Nicola Scales is the person my property has been assigned to for the last few years. The Manning Stainton rentals team in Leeds managed my property from late 2019 through to May 2022.
During what was understandably a tumultuous period, as the world got to grips with fallout from the global pandemic, Manning Stainton dealt with a very difficult tenant in my property, ultimately resulting in an eviction via the courts.
During this eviction process I received excellent support from the team, specifically Nicky Scales and Lillie Connolly. Both were on hand at the property on the eviction day and skilfully negotiated with the tenant (and multiple others residing at the property (!)) post eviction, to convince the tenants to return to the property to remove their belongings at a later date. This was efficient and for this I was very grateful, particularly given the condition the tenants had left the property in.
The tenants also abandoned a large vehicle at the property and declared this SORN. Nicky and Lillie were instrumental in persuading the former tenant to ultimately take responsibility to have the vehicle towed to a scrap yard. Considering the brakes were seized and the steering column destroyed, this was no mean feat!
Nicky was very efficient in managing the court process from the day we served notice right through to being on site on the day the eviction took place. Her support, reassurance and professional manner made what was a particularly distressing experience, as smooth as it possibly could be. This was greatly appreciated.
In terms of bringing the property back into a liveable condition, Lillie was very helpful in sourcing a a very competitive price on a carpet re-fit throughout and also provided a much needed cleaning service. The carpet re-fit was delivered efficiently, professionally and to a high standard.
Both Nicky and Lillie deserve a lot of credit for the support they gave to me and my family during a process that was very difficult at times, for all of us.
I would have no hesitation in recommending either if I was to rent out a property in the future.

Nicky Scales: I have been a landlady with MS for several years and have known Nicky throughout that time. Nicky has been a real help to me and is pro-active with problems. Her senior and expert advice (in the difficult situations that inevitably crop up as an owner of a rentals portfolio of properties) is always timely and much appreciated - and for this reason I wanted to register my views by writing a positive client review.
