As a prospective landlord I was apprehensive as to how the lettings and renting process would work out. However from the very beginning I was given all the information I needed by Lucky, my lettings manager, to make an informed decision. Every question and concern was dealt with professionally and I was supported every step of the way. It turned out to be a very smooth process from start to finish and a lot quicker than I had anticipated. Once the property was , Emma was appointed as my property manager. I have contacted her a number of times with questions and was dealt with in a friendly and professional manner. Every member of staff in the branch that I have spoken to has been unfailingly polite and helpful. It has been a very positive experience.

We sold through Bernard's Waterlooville in December 2020 and they were such an attentive, efficient and supportive team, me and my husband were delighted to hear that a lot of the same people had moved to the Fareham branch so we could deal with them all over again with our new house move this year as I felt we built such a good rapport and have a good working relationship with them from the previous time.
We started with contacting Chris again as he was just brilliant last time and oversaw our house sale last time. He swiftly got the process started and we had viewings galore soon booked. And not long after, potential buyers produced some offers..
The process was not without a bit of unluck though as we lost houses that we wanted due to troublesome sellers but whenever we lost our own buyer if the chain fell apart, Bernard's were super quick to sort it out and get us another buyer.
Chris really kindly offered to get our mortgage underway with Bernard's too to speed up the process, waivering the brokerage fee for us (perhaps as a goodwill gesture as we used the company before) which was brilliant and so good of him. Vicky got our mortgage all sorted and passed for us all in a morning which was again just first class service.
Once our chain was more established, the sale was dealt with by Toby. Right from the get go, Toby was really efficient, attentive to keeping us updated, professional and friendly and determined to get this sale through for us as quickly as possible. We had issues with our solicitors which Toby persevered to press them for timely responses right until the end. He was brilliant at contacting the entire chain to ensure contact was retained and all moving parts of the chain were resolved as quickly as possible.
Although the sale of our house and subsequent purchase was not without its ups and downs, Bernard's facilitated as smooth a process as possible for us with a first class service to match as always. The guys (and Vicky) are a credit to the company. And although we have previously recommended them to both my parents and my sister (who then used them), we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else looking to purchase a house if you want an exceptional service.
We would only ever contact them alone if we ever needed to move house again (hopefully only if needed now to downsize when we retire!!!!).

Worst ever experience with this firm. Do not pay a holding deposit, they tried to steal mine and my sons deposit, for not meeting referencing criteria. Threatened them with legal action, managed to win half of it back. DO NOT USE THIS SCAM OUTFIT, any chance to screw you, they will. I have kept ... Read Full Review

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
Complaints Procedure
IN-HOUSE COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE We are committed to providing a professional service to all our clients and customers. When something goes wrong, we need you to tell us about it. This will help us to improve our standards. If you have a complaint, please put it in writing, including as much detail as possible. We have eight weeks to consider your complaint. If we have not resolved it within this time you may refer your complaint to The Property Ombudsman. What will happen next? ? We will send you a letter acknowledging receipt of you complaint within three working days of receiving it, enclosing a copy of this procedure. ? We will then investigate your complaint. This will normally be dealt with by the office manager who will review your file and speak to the member of staff who dealt with you. A formal written outcome of our investigation will be sent to you within 15 working days of sending the acknowledgement letter. ? If, at this stage, you are still not satisfied, you should contact us again and we will arrange for a separate review to take place by a senior member of staff. ? We will write to you within 15 working days of receiving your request for a review, confirming our final viewpoint on the matter. If you remain dissatisfied, you can then contact The Property Ombudsman to request an independent review: The Property Ombudsman Ltd Milford House 43-45 Milford Street Salisbury Wiltshire SP1 2BP 01722 333 306 www.tpos.co.uk Please note the following: You will need to submit your complaint to The Property Ombudsman within six months of receiving our final viewpoint letter, including any evidence to support your case. The Property Ombudsman requires that all complaints are addressed through this in-house complaints procedure, before being submitted for an independent review.
