I cannot praise Simon enough for the absolutely first class service he gave during the sale of my late parents home. As l do not live in the area he went above and beyond the service he gave, in a reassuring manner and in tending to the property in my absence. He is thoroughly professional but also has a wonderful personal touch and it was always a pleasure to deal with him. Also, his responses were always timely, which is often rare today. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you Simon.

Myself and my daughter started renting with Jolliffe and Daking nearly three years ago.In this time I have found them to be extremely pleasant and helpful at all times.When contacting them about any repairs they were always dealt with swiftly, on one occasion within two hours (central heating); being extremely accommodating in fitting around my work schedule.I cannot speak of them highly enough and would and have recommended them; absolutely excellent.

Whole experience of purchasing a house was made much easier with the help of Jolliffe Daking and in particular Jenna Buttery. Although my purchase fell through right at the last minute due to the vendor pulling out, I cannot thank Jenna enough for her efforts in doing all she could for me during this time. Buying a house is a big milestone in anyone's life and doing it for the first time alone is probably worse but I had every step explained to me and if I needed any advice or help Jenna was there on the double and never made me feel like an idiot for calling up over something that was so simple or small. I have bought a house through another agent since this one fell through and I can say hand on heart that I wished it was through Jolliffe as there was great communication, consistency, efficiency and such a personal touch that is now rare. A pleasure to deal with from the start. Thanks again Jolliffe and Jenna - keep smiling :)

They even registered all my details gas, electric water council tax , saved me loads of time freeing me up to settle into my beautiful new home

My wife and I stayed in one of their flats for over a year. During that time, this agency showed itself to be rude, aggressive and deliberately ineffecient whenever anything needed doing.
We moved in and they showed no interest in clearly telling us where the electric meter was or how to get access to it, as it was behind a locked cabinet. We went several days without electricity until they finally bothered to tell us how to get in.
We moved in with a filthy oven that was in no fit condition to be used and was deemed a health hazard by a contractor we paid to come out and see it. It took months for them to finally get us a new oven. They also displayed their favourite tactic during this time - DENY EVERYTHING. They would claim to not have received phone calls, not have received e-mails and on it went. So I was driven to the point of having to record each phone call with them, so they could not use this as an excuse going forwards. This in combination with sending them written notifications that they could not claim that they had never received.
Their inspections last all of 2 minutes. When you bring up any issues to them, their staff act annoyed and like they want to be anywhere else but there with you. I pointed out some damage to the shower and was told to fix it myself with a rubber band. I pointed out developing damp and was told, you should see some of the other flats. they are really bad. On none of these did they offer to do anything, even when our health was mildly at risk.
The staff do not communicate to each other at all. I have had two different people trying to arrange inspections and having to point out to the second person that we had already arranged an inspection with the first person. They do not apologize for wasting your time or for not asking their colleagues first.
During emergencies, they provide no contact number or help. The two times I needed something, they were out and in writing told me that I should just wait for office hours. They had the nerve to say this to me after the washing machine was flooding our home due to their old pipe system! Not only that they said it with a completely straight face, as though they could not understand why we would want a washing machine to not flood the property. Even then they took DAYS to get their asses in gear and do anything about it.
When we moved out, they made no effort to keep us or enquire why. This despite the fact we kept the property in excellent condition and always paid our rent on time. (On the one occassion it was A DAY LATE due to a bank holiday, they decided to send an extremely threatening letter to us).
They then came up with deductions out of nowhere. A small, indiscernible scratch was suddenly major damage. Also, a few crumbs were also a major issue to them as well. We had spent days having that property cleaned as well. I disputed their costs and analysis. They then played their trick I mentioned earlier. They claimed to have never received my dispute e-mail, making our efforts to recover the deducted money that much harder.
When I pointed out how we had come in to their offices and given them copies of receipts for damages that we had paid for, they claimed to have no record of that either. That is right, things that we handed to them, they then probably put in the shredder or just discarded immediately.
After we had moved, their staff mysteriously decided to reply to e-mails I had sent them many months to a year ago and decided then it was worth their time to answer my e-mails. Often only to say, Glad this was sorted. A bit late, people.
Under all conditions, avoid renting with these people. For your own sake. EVERYONE DESERVES BETTER THAN JOLIFFE DAKING!!!
My wife and I are thrilled to now be renting with another agency, who to our shock reply to messages instantly and have had so many things fixed extremely quickly.
Joliffe could learn a lesson from that. But then expecting them to do their jobs is asking too much.

Job list was simple: 1 x set of blinds, toilet seat replaced and washing machine fitted. It soon transpired that the only thing this agent treats with ANY urgency is the collection of money! As I moved in during the Winter period I obviously required to heat the property - cue problem number 1! I spent a whole month with NO heating / hot water during a bitter winter, complete with frost / snow. It took in excess of 5 weeks to remedy this, . Meanwhile I ended up with a serious chest infection and subsequently was admitted to hospital .
Then onto the next issues - the blinds / toilet seat were never replaced and I had to do so at my own expense; despite repeated requests for this to be addressed. Once out of hospital, I moved in the rest of my furniture and TV etc. Next issue - NO TV signal! Despite paying in full for my TV licence, I then waited for - and wait for this one! - 3 months to finally get a new connection installed .....
All this crowd are good for is money collection, they really don't know the meaning of the words "customer service" and I would genuinely recommend that tenants avoid them; the choice is yours...Should you choose to use them, then I STRONGLY advice that you get everything in writing or, better still, if there are jobs that need doing, don't put down a deposit or sign anything until the work is complete.
