The worst experience I've ever received from “any company”.
My partner and I paid a deposit on a rental after being told “the Landlord is happy to proceed” - also ordering a sofa for the flat.
We didn't hear anything for 2 days and was unsure what was happening, so when we chased the estate agent told us “the landlord has decided to proceed with a friend and it's not through us”.
Confused by the situation and lack of communication, I decided to turn up to the flat and speak to the landlord about the confusion.
The landlord told me he's now accepted tenancy with somebody else, and he was never made aware that we'd paid a deposit.
I asked if he knew the individual like Douglas Allan had claimed, and to my shock he replied “I don't know her, Douglas Allan organised for her to come round yesterday (which was 2 days after we'd paid the deposit)”
The landlord himself told me he's angry that the estate agent didn't make him aware that we'd paid the deposit, because he would've then stopped showing the property.
It turns out, Douglas Allan lied to both myself and the landlord - for the sake of £50 extra a month (which me when my partner would've been happy to pay).
Never in my life, have I paid a deposit for that item or property to be taken by somebody else.

i have used the Basildon branch to buy and sell properties, and have had 1st class service from Simon, we sat down and discussed what type of properties i was looking for, and didnt send me any properties that were unsuitable. unlike other agents he was very proactive and helpful, and guided me through the process. i had some problems with solar panels which was holding up the mortgage application, but Chelsey sorted it all, which saved me a lot of work. we got the mortgage through the branch, and again had great service from Danielle. the service from this branch was superb, and i highly recommend them.

Chelsey not only helped sort out problems with both ours and our buyers solicitors, she also helped when times of stress were getting too much.

From the very beginning Simon gave us the assurance that he would do his best and he absolutely did. We sold our properties so quickly and it was all down to him and his marketing techinique. On top of being professional, friendly and supportive, he is 'normal'; like the rest of us (and he drives a Mini!!) Chelsey Baldwin is an absolute star and deserves a medal for the trauma both she and myself went through when our original buyer pulled out but hey presto, three days later our property had a new buyer. I would thoroughly recommend these guys, you would be mad not to :)

I'm a seller not satisfied with the service provided by Douglas Allen Basildon.
Very unprofessional people, they never replied to any of my calls. Also a bad level of communication within the agency. When I reported or asked for something, they forgot and failed to report to Manager and/or other Members of staff, creating a chain of problems. Very poor quality customer care, stressfull experience.
