One year after writing my last glowing review of this letting agent, I am delighted to report that their service remains truly exemplary.
Nothing is too much trouble, including unstinting efforts to clear up messes created by their predecessors.
They take a totally common sense approach to problems howsoever arising, and their response is almost instant. After 20 years of letting property in Uckfield and Crowborough my wife and I so wish we had found them earlier. Our particular thanks to Brian, and best wishes to him and the crew for 2023.

After several valuations we decided to use Mansell McTaggart Uckfield to sell our house. We were very pleased we did. The team were professional, polite and helpful throughout the process. We were informed of appointments in good time and the team were always punctual. They returned our calls and kept us up to date. Viewers were chased for feedback and viewings were undertaken in a friendly and professional way. When later, things went wrong in our chain (not our agents fault) both Dan and Trevor were very helpful, when we were at times exasperated by the process. They calmed us down and dealt with difficult situations professionally. The sale eventually went through and we had no regrets in using Mansell McTaggart. We felt supported and valued in the process. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

My wife and I are landlords who over 20 years had become so disillusioned by the appalling service by letting agents in Wealden compared to our agents in other areas that, after recovering yet another smashed up property we decided to manage our portfolio ourselves.
This was such a drain on our time and energy that we decided to sell the Wealden portion through Mansell McTaggart in course of which we were introduced to their letting team, and so decided to hand management to them while their colleagues arranged our property sales.
The letting service proved so excellent that we cancelled our sales, and for the first time in 20 years we feel we are getting the expertise and professionalism we pay for.
So many thanks to Brian Wilkins in the Uckfield office whose sterling work has been truly transformational.

Their fees in my opinion are pretty much exactly the same as any other estate agents in our area, I looked into several, some were more expensive but most had similar fees to mansell McTaggart.

From day 1 we made clear exactly what we wanted/needed from them and indeed even left most of the price negotiations to them. I trusted their skills and knowledge to obtain the best results for us and they came through with flying colours. On top of this when we encountered the occasional hiccup, both Dan and Trevor mediated between parties and kept any stress away from us and managed to keep all parties happy. I would like to thank the whole team for their hard work, friendliness and professionalism throughout this whole process and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Dan at Trevor at the Uckfield branch were always helpful,flexible and fun to deal with,and at the same time extremely professional.
Trevor was particularly good at chasing up the chain,solicitors etc and anticipating any problems...very proactive.
There is always a need to be equally impartial to the buyer and the seller of a property regardless of who is the fee payer.Without doubt I will use Mansells in the future and thank them for all their support.

We recently, May 2015, purchased through Mansell McTaggart and I can only say that my impression of estate agents has improved due to their dealings. Profitability for the branch would appear more important than getting the best price for the vendor.
The business set up of the Company needs consideration by any prospective vendor....Although you may think you are dealing with a large estate agency with many branches, each branch appears to be its own ltd company with its own company Director. The profitability of a branch will be linked to Director's earnings. In theory to safeguard the profitability of other branches, this set up would allow a branch to fail and close without direct impact on the other branches.
How involved Mansell McTaggart Ltd is in overseeing for example, Mansell McTaggart Crowborough Ltd? I suspect not much! Do they approve or check over director's valuations? How can such a disparity exist between local prices of properties sold under their banner through different branches? The only explanation can be that it really depends which branch you are with.
Mansell McTaggart Ltd really need to get a handle on this as otherwise they are allowing their professional memberships to be used as a smoke screen for sharp practice.
