'No news is good news'
My initial contact with Clan Gordon was very positive. Hannah was my main contact and she was very professional and friendly, sharing her experience to help set up my flat for renting afresh after a very long tenancy. All went smoothly and suitable tenants were found quickly.
Since then, the Clan team have dealt with matters efficiently to ensure compliance with safety and other regulatory requirements, and any issues arising in the property. I have found that reports of maintenance / repair requirements usually come with a suggested way forward from Clan, which is very helpful. Krisztina has been my property manager for some time and she has been most helpful. What is also reassuring and refreshing is the evidence of teamwork, such that someone else from Clan has always responded to any communication in the absence of Krisztina or the person contacted.
I'm sure I'm not alone as a landlord in hoping that 'no news is good news'. This has mainly been the case with Clan, and long may it continue.

Extremely positive experience with Clan Gordon after 18 years with a previous letting agency which was becoming an increasingly frustrating and disappointing service in recent years with a drive for online expansion and depersonalised service. Finding Clan Gordon has been a breath of fresh air and I only wish I had had the sense to find them years ago.
Since making contact with Hannah Doig early in the year to discuss the possibility of selling our old rental flat in Edinburgh and upgrading to something better, she has been unfailingly helpful with her general guidance and feedback about the potential of various properties on the market in terms of suitability for the rental market. Even though she had no guarantees that we would use her services as a letting agent, she has provided friendly, knowledgeable and patient advice and support throughout the process of our new purchase and then the process of preparing the property for renting. Her communication is excellent, she has always done exactly what she promised to do and she has enabled us to get from collecting keys to getting a tenant in situ within 6 weeks even though we live several hundred miles away and could only be in Edinburgh for 72 hours in the whole process. The rest of the staff in the office have also been extremely helpful and supportive in the process of remedial and compliance work, and again their communication and guidance has been excellent and reliable.
We are not professional landlords, but are buying a flat which we hope to retire to eventually, so we were looking for an agency which would focus on caring well for the property and treating the tenants well, who are enabling us to pay off our mortgage. Clan Gordon have exceeded all our expectations and we would not hesitate to recommend them. It's an absolute revelation after our previous experience. Whether you email or ring them, you have a clear response from a staff team who clearly work together closely and want to help each other and all their clients. It is a completely different experience than the previous agency where in the past couple of years we would never get to speak to the same person twice, had no idea of whether any action was being taken, and where we were hitting our heads against a brick wall and going round in circles.
Clan Gordon have a very accessible, easy to use online landlord portal which is a great way of accessing everything we need to understand what is happening to our property, but what is so refreshing after our previous experience is that this does not seem to be designed as a substitue for personal customer service. It is a tool to support genuinely efficient working, rather than a way of cutting corners and responsibility by an agency. Clan Gordon seems to have retained all of the positive approachability of a small business whilst also being really efficient and professional.
Thank you Hannah, Matthew and everyone else we have had dealings with in the Clan Gordon office for your high standards and very friendly and supportive service.

The only negative I would say is that information received by both of us does not always align, which has created some confusion at times, but otherwise everything has been grand and we've felt looked after and supported.

Clan Gordon are a highly professional outfit, who have been a pleasure to work with in arranging the let of my flat - from beginning to end. Quick, efficient, and clear communications at all times (my main contact, Hannah, was excellent). Plus friendly advice from a human perspective. Perhaps most telling though, was how they responded to a couple of hiccups along the way - both of which were outside of their direct control. They immediately got in touch to offer apologies (which weren't required!). And they remedied matters quickly and efficiently, providing reassurance that they took any drop in standards during the letting process very seriously, even though they weren't directly responsible. That to me, shows their professionalism. And I would not hesitate to recommend them for anyone looking to let their property in Edinburgh or the Edinburgh area.

Clan Gordon appeared to offer all that we wanted as first-time landlords, a complete 'get you ready to rent' package; they have not disappointed. From those early days their customer service was supportive, insightful and constructive, ensuring we had our flat ready, marketed and in compliance with all requirements within a short period of time. This service has only endured, maintaining regular communication, giving us confidence as remote landlords. A real highlight has been the dedicated relationship we have built with Lauren at the Anderson Place office, always willing to go the extra mile and ensure those little issues are navigated with aplomb. Overall, we are genuinely satisfied with the service received from Lauren and the whole Clan Gordon team and expect that this will only continue and cement a professional relationship - thank you.
