The viewing was nice, but the after treatment was quite the opposite.
I stressed a timeframe to relocate to the area from another part of the country work purposes, but had to keep chasing Archer Bassett an answer as to whether my application was successful or not the property I hoped to rent. Finally, after a wasted week, I called and was told told I was unsuccessful and that they simple forgot to call and me know a few days beforehand.
I am fairly confident that they did not forget to call the successful applicant and collect their deposit ASAP.
So I am no closer to finding a place to live because of their lack of contact and understanding.

Left without hot water and heating for over 2 weeks in freezing temperatures. Poor communication and little sympathy. Tenant well being is not a priority in my opinion and despite raising concerns on a regular basis I am no further forward and advised to purchase temporary electric heaters until boiler replacement . Regardless of limitations, particularly when I am a good tenant this is has been a Disappointing experience.

Absolutely disgusting service. If you are looking for a place don't go through this company. I enquired about an advertised property they said they had a lot of interest. I got completely turned of by the condescending tone, attitude, and response. I told them not to bother to book me in. These people called me back frantically a week later asking me to come view the property as the previous viewings yielded nothing. I was relocating from 4 hrs away in London and explained the distance and expense I would have to travel to do the viewing and would not bother to attend if I was not sure to let it. They assured me it would have a positive end result as they already had my personal circumstance details. The property was actually less rent pcm than the property I was moving from. So I eventually agreed travelled 4hrs to view. I mean lets forget that we now have technology that will allow remote viewings. I dont know how they ever survived covid. i viewed and was satisfied with the place and asked for next steps to let. Next day I get a message asking what was my current rent. I asked why this info was necessary. I was told the landlord was worried that I would not have enough disposable income. I was like, what? !!!! My income was above the 30x threshold, I was currently paying £3000 more per annum at my present property where I had lived for 8 years with no issues. Sounded a bit racist to me. I heard nothing back. I called and enquired only to be told by a rude receptionist that they had booked other viewings. I complained. Ended up speaking to the manager. When I brought discrimination laws to their attention the Manager promptly responded that the agent was Indian and couldn't be racist since obviously I was not caucasian and not Indian either. SERIOUSLY ARCHER BASSET? SO here is what I have discovered in my renting journey in Rugby, the new builds are being rented out to certain people that all look alike (neither black nor brown). If you don't belong to this category preferred group you are relegated to the properties they won't take i.e. the old ones, the overpriced ones, and those nit fit for human habitation. So all my years studying for my 2 university degrees, and other professional qualifications, my 999 credit score, and full time employment as a project manager are not important. What's important here is the colour of my skin and my Caribbean accent. DISGUSTING! Any decent landlords out there willing to offer a 3 bed in Rugby, preferably a new build.... let me know.

Also during the application process they tell you to give them access to your credit card through some unknown program. This access allows them to withdraw money from your bank at any time. What if there will be a data leak? Your money will be gone. This is definitely not write people to trust such an important things!

Hi Everyone,
Please avoid the agency. It is for your own good. There are countless negative experiences with then. To start with the slow handling of the documents. The application process took them over a month to get sorted. Then they started to rush us to move into the property. We agreed and and we gave notice period to our landlords. Two days before we move in the property they told us that we can not move in as it is not ready. We have paid deposit, arranged everything, changed my personal details everywhere to be for that property and they simply said that cannot help us and move us in, knowing that we will stay on the street if they can sort it out. A lot of headache, wasted time etc. Been calling them every single day so as to move forward the application process, but they do not care. Anyway key points to the review.
AVOID FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:
- Slow
- Unreliable
- Giving a lot of Fake Promises
- Unresistant
- Poor Communication
- Absolutely 0 Customer Service
- Never Gave a Call Back (as they have said they would do)
- and many many more
PLEASE CHECK THE OVERALL REVIEWS OF THE AGENCY AND MAKE YOUR CHOICE WISELY.....

I would give zero stars if I could.
I fell in love with a property, & was so excited at the prospect of moving into my new home.
I went to see the apartment with my mother in law, whilst we both loved it, I asked the estate agent if I could arrange a seperate viewing with my partner. I was reassured that this would be fine, the apartment hadn't been occupied since November & only two couples had shown interest since, both of which failed their references.
I was called two days before my viewing to tell me the flat was now off the market, as an application had been submitted. The agent that called showed no remorse, telling me 'you were told it was a popular property'. I was not at any point.
Had I been told, I would have submitted an application there & then. This agency obviously cares solely about profit & not people, I would advise any prospective tenants avoid using them at all costs.

Wouldn’t rate these agents one star if that was an option. May issues with property reported promptly to them and either not actioned at all or after a very long period of time. One inspection was even forgotten about after me organising time off work to meet their demands, flustered ... Read Full Review

Wouldn’t rate these agents one star if that was an option. May issues with property reported promptly to them and either not actioned at all or after a very long period of time. One inspection was even forgotten about after me organising time off work to meet their demands, flustered woman on the phone rushed over after 20 minutes. Property on vacating was cleaned to perfection yet still money deducted from deposit. All round bad experience with them.

He told my girlfriend we would have to go through the application process, there was a couple viewing after us. My girlfriend emailed him after the viewing to ... Read Full Review

Would have give 0 stars. Absolutely unprofessional service from these. My girlfriend went to view a property with a guy called Tom Wolski. He told my girlfriend we would have to go through the application process, there was a couple viewing after us. My girlfriend emailed him after the viewing to say we would like to start the application process. Upon his return he emailed back and said that the couple after us had phone up and put a deposit down on the property while he was travelling back and that they would “have to go with them” so it was one rule for us and another for them. Absolute money pinchers. Would not recommend!

I rented my current flat with Archer Bassett in Coventry when I first moved to the UK from abroad. It has been almost 2 years. From the first day onwards, Archer Bassett was super helpful in everything, property management, accounts etc. They have been super responsive during these extraordinary times as well. For example, I had the upstairs flat leaking to my flat on very early Sunday morning, which was dangerous as the leaking occurred from just above the lights in the hall and the boiler room, Archer Bassett team responded my emergency call before 9 am on a Sunday and guiding me what to do and providing support. Help, support, guidance, quick operations, trustworthy. I strong recommend them and will work with the same agent in the future.
