Thankfully my partner and I are 5 days from officially ending any connection with LD Property. We did have a beautiful penthouse apartment rented through them that we were assured was a long term let by both the letting agents and our landlord, however after SIX months of living there, just enough time to become settled and actually start making it our home our landlord decides to sell (yes, well within their right, but the way LD dealt with it was highly unprofessional). Despite someone from LD emailing me to let me know the landlord had a surveyor coming to the property, they 'were unaware' the landlord was selling - until I phoned them to ask why we as tenants hadn't been informed. Funny how quick they can serve a Section 21 (the same afternoon, by hand) when it takes them days, if not weeks to do anything for the customer. Then they had the gall to try and tell me that as a Section 21 had been served, I was unable to give my one months notice as a tenant, just to try and claw that one last payment from me (that didn't work out for them). I suppose the only decent thing they did was to waiver the checkout fee considering the landlord offered to inspect the property. And yes, I know that our landlord is the one who chose to sell the property, but we dealt with LD Property directly as their customers, and they were the ones with the duty to inform (or in this case, not inform) us.
Understand that business will always work best on reputation. I would have been happy to recommend you to others had you dealt with this bad situation in a good manner. However, you chose to play the blame game and belittle my intelligence. I think you can guess what that means.

Jul 28, 2014I am really sorry that you feel so aggrieved with LD Property Management it is certainly not how we would want to be perceived. We pride ourselves on giving excellent customer service, which many of our clients enjoy and it is disappointing when we receive negative feedback. I think it is important to give a balanced view and I would like to give our version of events. Firstly, your Landlord advised us that the property was available for rental for between 2 to 3 years and we would have indicated this to you from the start. With regards to issuing notice following a visit by the surveyor, you need to understand that we are employed by your Landlord and were simply carrying out their instructions. The Section 21 Notice was issued in line with the Housing Act. I am confused with your statement about ‘I was unable to give my one month’s notice as a Tenant’ because you did give your one month’s notice on the anniversary of your tenancy start date and this was accepted in line with the Housing Act, thus, terminating your tenancy 1 month earlier than the Section 21 end date. The property was on the market for sale prior to it being offered for rent last year. Your Landlord was unexpectedly approached by someone who viewed the property back then and made an offer to your Landlord. This offer was too good for your Landlord to ignore. I am somewhat bemused by your statement that it takes us ‘days, if not weeks to do anything for the customer’. I have checked our files and cannot see any example where we have fallen short in rectifying any issues with the property, in fact other than talking you through how to re-pressurise the boiler which was identified by our Property Manager when he conducted a Property Visit and agreeing to your request for a fish tank, I can see no other request for assistance from you. I know it is disappointing to be given Notice when you have only been in a property for 7 months and were least expecting it and if we can be of any further assistance to you whilst you are in your last days at the flat, please do not hesitate to contact me. Finally, may I wish you both all the best for your future.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.

I write this review as a tenant of a flat below a property that LD Property manage. We live in a Maisonette. The issue of a defective floor was reported to Cliff Newcombe of LD Property on the 5th June 2020. Their floor (my ceiling) started making loud cracking noises to the extent it would wake ... In my opinion agents fees are all too high, so this is not a criticism of LD property per se, but I also understand they have a business to run, and fees therefore have to be paid.
