We have our property through Snellers Twickenham and has been our worst experience. When we marketed through them they got us a applicant and asked us to stop viewings from other agents as they got an holding deposit but later the offer was withdrawn and we lost out on time and potential offers. Snellers have not passed this holding deposit even though they agreed we have lost out. Now with a tenant that they secured us has moved in on the 1st of April and till date 17th April Snellers have not paid us our rent even though they have received it from the tenant. We have send emails and phone calls but yet to receive our rent and a reply this long delay. We have also requested to raise a complaint with the director Alex but don't seem to get any response on this. Not sure the management is aware of such practice from their Twickenham branch. Hope other prospective landlords learn from our bitter experience with Snellers.

Terrible experience with Alex Wallace, director.
After being introduced to Alex after his fellow colleague left the company, Alex took over two weeks to contact me despite being accepted on a property where we had no confirmed move in date. After finally receiving a call at nearly 8pm from Alex, he made no apology for the lack of responses (I’d called the office a handful of times to ask for him) and instead simply made it clear we were not important enough to warrant a response. He also made a number of other rude comments to the extend I ended the phone call. Since then I have found a new agent who has found me a beautiful property to rent plus will be selling my local flat.

We had to end the tenancy early due to mould in the bedroom which was making us ill. We had spent a month sleeping in the lounge and they had no interest in sorting the mould, even though their expert said it was the worst he had seen and the wall needs rebuilding, they even had the cheek of saying that it will likely be an issue for the next tenant by Kieron. They don’t care at all about people! From day one it was a disaster. We turned up to a very dirty flat, storage cupboard full of boxes and many other items leftover from the previous tenant. We couldn’t move our own items in until a WEEK later than planned and I was called difficult by Kieron for insisting that the 20 large boxes be moved sooner and asked if some of the old furniture could be moved out. We were told we had the option of fully furnished or not but we had no idea what would stay and they had no idea as the previous tenant had vanished. Eventually we had no choice but to move in without the storage space which was really difficult. The inventory report for check-in, once we finally received it, listed the words grubby, dirty, dusty, scratches, mould, well over a hundred times and we sent numerous emails asking for things to be fixed, despite the flat being dirty upon our arrival they are now trying to take over £200 for a professional clean from us! We had no keys for our mailbox for weeks, they didn’t help us to sort this out at all, there happened to be a handyman in the building helping with a general issue who helped us out. We had to buy our own key to gain access to do a meter reading and we also had to get a extra front door keys made for ourselves and the agency as they only had one set. The curtains had mould on them, there was so much dust behind the radiators it was disgusting and we spent hours cleaning the walls which were covered in grime and marks plus scraping black grime off around the oven. Once the storage boxes were removed that then revealed a mouldy carpet and pipes and dirty walls which we scrubbed ourselves. As well as trying to get us to pay them for a professional clean they are also now trying to claim that we owe them

£25 toward a cracked tile which is shown in the check in report, £25 for a loose kickboard..which was already loose when we arrived, £25 for scratches on the floor which is covered in marks which is mentioned in the check in, £25 for a greasy door when we moved in there was thick grease everywhere. It’s clear that they keep any money they take from tenants for processional cleans for themselves and do not pass the benefits of a clean on to the tenant. It was the worst 3 months of renting in London I’ve ever had after ten years with no experience like this before. They released us from the tenancy early with two months notice but due to sleeping in the living room to avoid the mould and them clearly having no interest in resolving the issue while we were there, we had no choice but to move out early. We’ve been out of the flat for over two months now and it feels like the nightmare with this company continues as they are dragging us into a tenancy dispute for the clean and ridiculous items they’re charging us for. The biggest regret was not turning around on day one and getting out of the tenancy then but as they well know it’s incredibly difficult to find a place to live and with a short turn around so we were stuck with this dirty mouldy flat! If you listen to one review let it be this one, Snellers are fraudulent liars, they will knowingly lie about damage and cleaning to take every penny they can from you and if you have the audacity to challenge them they will blame you and drain every ounce of spirit out of you by passing you around various staff who tell one conflicting lie after the other, to the extent that when Kieron was chasing us for a bill we had already paid I asked about the deposit return and the response was ‘not my problem’. An absolutely soulless company.

Based on this we decided to go with them. Once on the market, we got no viewings - all these people had disappeared!
Snellers told us after 2 weeks that we should lower the asking place by 20% if we wanted any hope of selling because they had rung round their list of buyers again and that’s how much they would pay for it. They didn’t seem to understand that 20% was an awful lot after 2 weeks! We’re pretty sure they lie about people being interested in the property to get you to choose them.
They were also very disorganised. The estate agent brought the wrong keys to viewings 4 times in a row, so we had to rush back to our property to let them and the potential buyers in who had been waiting outside. So embarrassing! How could you not make sure you had the right keys the 2nd time?!
We eventually gave up and went with a new estate agent after about 3 months.
