Really poor service all round. I have, thankfully, now moved out of their property. But, if you are unfortunate enough to be about to start renting from these estate agents, be aware of the numerous dodgy practices they will attempt.
They will firstly pressure you into signing a "no-deposit scheme" in order to secure your property. Which although it would be illegal to outright force you, they make it abundantly clear that you will not get the property unless you sign up for this £60 a month charge. If you attempt to request a conventional deposit, as you are legally entitled, they will tell you this is likely to be a dealbreaker for the landlord who will look to the next applicant. Now, purely coincidentally I'm sure, they receive a large cut of this monthly premium for each unfortunate tenant they successfully refer.
Additionally throughout the process you will be pressured into signing up for, Portico sourced, contents insurance. They will be deliberately vague in specifying whether you are legally obligated to sign up (you are not). Going so far as to state that the landlord is insisting upon it (despite it making no conceivable difference to them). Now weirdly, they also get a cut of this money. But I'm sure that's not a factor in why they attempt to pressure you into another needless expense. They must just be concerned for the safety of your possessions in their overpriced properties...
They will also demand from you completely ridiculous amounts of personal information, which I have never been asked for before or since.
Add to this that they are completely disorganised, uncommunicative, consistently slow to address maintenance issues and generally incompetent and you are left with a pretty dreadful experience. Best avoided if at all possible.

We moved in this weekend, and had everything we needed (such as contracts, legal bits etc.) all well in advance of our move. Never have I felt so secure, happy and safe in the hands of an estate agent before.
We had been looking on our own for months with no luck, then Jade and Portico came along and were our beaming light of hope. Would absolutely recommend Portico to a friend as things really couldn't have gone better for us. Would also doubley recommend Jade. She is a star.

All our dealings with Portico (Leyton) have been excellent. We have found them very supportive in giving advice and dealing with all that needed to be done.
Alice Amara has been exceptional in helping and advising us, any problems we have had she has sorted out promptly including sourcing a new front door when the original company let us down. Sorting out the colour we preferred for the decoration, arranging the buying and installation of a new washing machine. These are just a few of the things Alice has sorted out. Whilst doing this she has always been very pleasant and positive and has kept us informed throughout all of this either by phone or email.
Marc McIIveney has advised and guided us from the start with what we could do to improve the property.
We would not hesitate in recommending them.

No question was too small for her and if it wasn't something she could control/ crossed over into other departments like finance or management, she found out and made sure she responded to me in a timely fashion.

No question was too small for her and if it wasn't something she could control/ crossed over into other departments like finance or management, she found out and made sure she responded to me in a timely fashion.
I suspect Jade has a lot of rentals to sort out and get to a point where they are taken over by a property manager but she never made me feel that I wasn't important and a valued client. Jade is an asset to Portico and could teach others in the team how to deliver excellent client service. I couldn't recommend Jade more!

From the initial contact with Marc, he is already preparing and planning. The communication between staff is excellent and they all work together as a team. I have only had 2 tenants in 20 years - so I think that speaks volumes. Thank you Marc, Jade & Jake, you have all been absolutely wonderful.
