Addiscombe area guide

He walked us through the entire process and was incredibly friendly and understanding through out. Unfortunately, you don't see a lot of that in estate agents, they can be quite pushy and I didn't feel that at all with Streets Ahead.
Zeenat also promptly sent us all the contracts and left clear and concise instructions. Thanks again guys!

i rented a bedsit for my daughter which was managed by Cherelle. Unfortunately she did not make this a very pleasant experience. Cherelle does not like replying to emails or communicating much at all. Any problem that i had including not hot water would on average take around 10 days to respond to. When my daughter moved in the doors had fallen off the fridge freezer which took 10 days to replace with two separate unsightly, dirty, old units. The mould on the bathroom ceiling was never dealt with. I could not find out for weeks which parking space was ours resulting in other residents getting angry for parking in the wrong place. The hot water tank was leaking constant hot water resulting in having to turn the water off. Still no response from her so no hot water for 10 days. My daughter left the property over three months ago and i still have not received my deposit. She has tried to charge me for a removal of something but will not say what so has since dropped that claim but now i am being charged for what seems to be a standard clean for the next resident to move in although nothing was damaged, no carpet, curtains or upholstery, no stairs i still have to pay for the clean. They re probably using my money to have the mould cleaned for the next tennant! Still trying to get my money back and no communication from her at all. Called the office to complain but the person i spoke to was not really interested! She said my money will be in this week but not really bothered about any of the issues raised.

I would like to give 5 stars to George Barnes & Emma Mckenzie, from Streets Ahead Croydon branch, for their great services that they offered me in finding an excellent property that fits with my budget and my expectations.
Over one month and half, between January & February 2020, George gave me the opportinuty to visit multiple properties that he or his colleagues were managing in Croydon area. For those visits, I benefited from George's flexibility in time scheduling, his attention to my needs and his proactive approach.
Emma has been also very flexible and proactive during the process of filling all the documents to kick off the contract. I would like to thank both again (George and Emma), and their other colleagues that I have met during the visit of the properties to rent.

Not only is she the loveliest lady, she treated me like a person and not just another appointment. Very quick to respond to all of my emails. She cut out all the jargon and broke everything down for me so I understood everything that was happening and why.

The staff at Streets ahead are all very polite , but completely useless . I have a catalogue of complaints about them , ranging from simply not relaying messages from the tenants that something was wrong in the flat , to not getting the flat cleaned before new tenants moved in , thus souring the relationship with the tenants as soon as they move in . They have charged me multiple times for the same cleaning job and then not refunded the money , They lost the keys to my flat , conducted inventories which did not list items which were clearly visible in accompanying photos , let departing tenants walk off with items of furniture , and basically refused to do anything resembling managing the flat they were charging me to manage . I was reduced to dealing only with the branch manager , whose stock response was to sign and tell me “ that member of staff no longer works here “ . Honestly , you would be better off leaving your flat to be looked after by squatters than hire this rabble .

The landlord is a dodgy guy with crueladevil as his partner/coordinator and hassle the penny’s out of you. The shower didn’t work for 3 months and the drains have been blocked since we moved in. I email the property manager nearly daily to the point where he ignores me now. Any positive review on here I guarantee are 100% fake. Look at trust pilot and please, don’t use them.

Comments (1)I'm pretty new to the UK and decided to rent a property in Croydon. I was looking out for the property which accepts PETS and i got in touch with an agent from Streets Ahead. He showed me a couple of properties stating that the pets are allowed in there. As I was in an urgency to find a property as my company sponsored stay is completed and i had to move out of the hotel in central London, I opted for one of the properties which was newly built. During the time of agreement the agent has stated that, as my PET is currently not in the UK the pet clause hasn't been removed from the agreement and told me that i can remove it later by paying additional deposit of £250 once the pet arrives in the UK. As the pet arrival in the UK was scheduled i have enquired the landlord about the change in agreement to remove pet clause for which he replied that PETS are not allowed in the property and i need to move out if i want to get the PET. I have tried to reach out to the agent on phone but he never answers the call. I have tried reaching few other agents/Manager at their office at Coombe Road, even they said that there is nothing they can do as i dont have any email stating that pets are allowed. As the agreement is already signed and its only 3 weeks since i moved in, they have clearly pushed me into an absolutely bad situation by locking me in a useless deal for 3.5 months. I have told them that my Tenancy application has clearly captured that i am brining in a Dog, for which they said that they don't have any information from the application. I even stated that a pet is accompanying me in my reference report.If they don't consider any details i gave them, why are they even asking me for those details. Completely rubbish way of dealing with customers. A few of them were helpful towards the closure. But i had lost a lot of money for boarding my pet and paying a hefty rent to stay alone.

Always ask them to send an email with complete details and don't trust them by their word.

There have been some issues with the property, I understand this may happen from time to time but the main issue is in the way that it is handled. Honestly if you are considering renting from them please see who will be dealing with your home in the longterm before hand.
As a former senior manager in the hospitality industry I know the lengths I have personally gone to, in order to make sure my customers and clients were happy. Let alone a property that I am giving over £16000 worth of business a year. I have been personally injured through incompetence and my grievances have been ignored. The main issue of parking is still unresolved some 6 months in. It is dissapointing that I now have to take the time to escalate the situation and make a formal complaint. I only hope it is taken seriously as shes already accused me of making a complaint previously which I have not. She clearly just has a knack of rubbing people the wrong way. You've been warned!

I have had a very disappointing experience dealing with Streets Ahead. I paid my deposit to them at the end of June ready to move into a property for the 31st. When viewing said property I was told that the total costs to move in would be considerably lower than they actually are. When it came to signing the contract and getting ready to move in i was sent the final invoice which was way more than I was expecting. When I queried it with the agent who sent me the contract called ( Lynsey Radziszewska ) I was met with a lot of sarcasm and condescending comments about agreeing to the invoice. I initially viewed the property with the agent Alexandra Brown who was super lovely and professional but for whatever reason there was miscommunication in terms of the total fees. I was unable to move in of course as I hadn't prepared as much funds as the invoice stated. I let the agency keep my deposit to go towards another property as I had already cleared and been processed through references. Unfortunately I have heard little from the agency despite numerous calls and texts to the agency and individually to agents: Alexandra Brown, Lynsey Radziszewska and Layla Manning. I call through to head office and repeatedly am told I will receive a call back which never comes. I just want to receive my security deposit as it's impossible for me to pull a figure from thin air even if it's a misunderstanding through miscommunication. Be very careful when dealing with this agency, if they don't want to address or deal with you. They will ignore you

We have recently started renting a property with streets ahead and all we can say is that we are VERY disappointed with the customer service provided throughout the whole process. The agent that showed us the property and organised things was helpful but it was the other departments didn't make us enjoy this experience.
Our build up to the move in was extremely stressful as 4 days before we were due to be moved in they told us the move in date was incorrect so we have to pay cancellation fees to change our delivery dates. In addition to this inconvenience the person I spoke to on the phone showed no remorse and actually giggled when expressed my dissatisfaction to her. During this stressful week of date changing they also requested more documents which was at a very late stage in the process and could have asked for them weeks before. Then it took the department 3 times to send out the correct tenancy agreement as the first 2 had errors as little as the wrong date on. When we finally got the keys the property was NOT clean I asked the prgressor if it was supposed to be professionally cleaned and she said she will get someone to call me back- I never received this call back.
To top off the unorganisation she forgot to send out the property managemet details so I only received them when I needed to contact them.
On a whole the experience was bad and I would not recommend the agency.
