I Purchased a property via James Anthony Estate Agents From the viewing to the completion date. The agency is one of the most professional Estate Agents. The gentleman (Toby) was responsible for my purchase. Toby is very kind respectful and helpful. He replied to all my queries very quickly and helped me find engineers to install other stuff in the house such as gas. I asked him to arrange viewing several times with very short notice and he arranged that for me.
Everything went smoothly. I would use them if I want to sell or rent out in the future. Many thanks to Toby and all the team.

What can I say about Toby other than, what a man! I cannot thank him enough for the support he provided not only to sell my property, but also purchase my new one.

Cannot fault James Anthony Estate Agents. We used them to sell our late fathers property and from the very start they were knowledgeable, kind, caring and professional during what was an emotional time. Their knowledge of the local market and understanding of current climate was so helpful and clear.
Whilst I spoke with many in the office Charlotte and Toby were our main points of contact and they always made themselves available as soon as possible. The communication was clear and timely.

t’s quite shocking to me really that this agency hire agents with little to no people skills.
I would like to say that when we got our property valued, Toby was extremely candid and seemed trustworthy, in today’s market not pushing up the sale price just to get clients so we went with them.
From the offset, Toby took the pictures and came back after we weren’t happy with a couple of the shots, great.
Then we spoke to them about what was important them to highlight to potential buyers, such as the close distance to station, the fact we were willing to leave any furniture they wanted etc and Toby seemed to be someone we could trust to sell our property, feeling like we were in good hands.
Then lo and behold Katie from the offset lacked people skills, or selling skills. Didn’t seem to be passionate or confident at selling our property at the price valued at and constantly tried to tell us we’d be lucky to get what their agency valued it at.
We felt very uneasy having her selling our property. We even expressed this to the agency and were fobbed off, telling us this was how it was and Katie was great blah blah, so we just thought, we are tied in 12 weeks, lets see how this goes.
First offer that comes in, had pressure from Katie that this was the best offer we’d get (£8k less than what we put it on market ). But we had two people interested so we wanted to wait. Long story short we went with the offer as we just wanted to get the ball rolling.
The whole selling process it seemed that Katie was just telling outright lies to both myself and the buyers (which we know now as we have chat to the buyers a few times now as they have given us our post etc). When our buyer’s solicitors were finally ready exchange, the property we were purchasing hit a snag, a charge on their property which could take 3 weeks to sort out. Katie at this point was severely trying to push us into breaking the chain and actually stated ‘do you really want to make a couple and their baby homeless’ stating their tenancy agreement was up in a week which made me cry over the phone, to which she laughed and basically said all this was my fault because I said worst scenario they say they are pulling out, then we may be able to stay with my mum it took any longer than 3 weeks to get through the line. Katie even admitted to us, she was the one who told the buyers to hand in their notice as it was all ready to go (which should never be advice from an estate agent as anyone will tell you anything can happen up to exchange). She even admitted this to the estate agent we were buying with. She interrupted me on numerous occasions saying things like ‘ me just stop you there’ and laughing at me getting upset how she was making me feel, even though our goal was always to get the sale and purchase done as quickly and smoothly as possible. I am not a confrontational or aggressive person in any shape or form, so her reactions and rudeness was so unexpected and was completely taken aback.
The agency then had Toby handle the rest of the communication to which they outright lied to us saying that Katie never told them to hand their notice in, and that they did that on their own accord and they as a company never apologised 1. Stating that I would be responsible making a couple and their baby homeless, and 2. For laughing at me getting upset at these comments.
We have since spoken to the buyers after purchase went through, and they stated 1. They never were in a position to be homeless, 2. Their tenancy wasn’t up until end of January and even it went on longer they had family to stay with. 3. They were being told by Katie that they didn’t push the purchase to go through in the next week we would pull out (which was a lie).
Overall, I think you are assigned Katie, run the hills. I think either James Anthony need to give their agents better training, or be more truthful and apologetic their staff’s actions. No accountability as a company these actions, no apology. That’s all we needed

On moving day, James Anthony really came into their own. The solicitors were dragging their feet and the day was racing away so James got on the phone and made things happen.
I would defiantly recommend using James Anthony Estate Agents
