My wife Margaret and I were very pleased with the service we received from the GTH Tiverton branch. Looking for an estate agent that's not really bothered about selling your property? If you'd like to make sure that offers are not passed on in time, questions remain unanswered, calls not returned, then call GTH Tiverton and ask for Tony. Don't worry about them getting the information about your property right in the promotional material either - they'll just make up inaccurate boundaries for your property. Inefficiency is their main selling point.

5yrs to try sell this property, I dont think enough was being done to market it in the first place.
The phone calls were never returned and we came very close to losing a buyer after all this time. The sale was never chased up regularly by the estate agent basic things any estate agent should do while the property is SSTC. When questioned there was no answers and the matter was just dismissed.
The property in the end was sold at a lost, after dropping 25k from the GTH valued price.

Although GTH did sell our house quickly that was nothing to do with their quality as an agent and more to do with the heated market.
The only time we heard from Tony Overhill was to send his fee invoice. There was no congratulations on our sale, no checking all was well during the process and no best wishes for our new home.
It was very clear that Tony was not interested in us as people but only by how much he could earn.
The way we have been treated has left a very bitter taste in our mouth and we would never use or recommend Tony or Greenslade Taylor Hunt again.
We totally misjudged his character and if you want to be treated with respect I would recommend choosing an agent that is not totally driven by money but by you as individuals.

So we had to do another viewing at short notice involving a 400+round trip whilst heavily pregnant and with a 3yr old! So no doubt the ultimatum was made to try and prevent us offering.

Second viewing done and offer accepted, it turns out it wasn't a mortgageable property!!, so he had just wasted our time and money! His answer? Remarket it without addressing the fact it is a cash purchase only property so some other poor person will also waste their time and effort.
He was very dismissive and didn't take us seriously all along for no obvious reason other than maybe the colour of my skin! If this is the senior partners way of conducting business with his inability to be professional and act in the vendors interest I would avoid as a vendor and buyer!

My experience of this firm has been distressing and upsetting.
The lettings manager, Janet, cannot be challenged when mistakes are made and she in turn made false representations.
Following on from this the partner investigated my complaint and concluded that nothing inappropriate had occurred despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Terrible service and terrible company who charge tenants extortionate amounts and who tell lies.

I cannot comment as I have no basis of comparison with the fees of other agents. I used GTH for these services as the result of a long-standing relationship with one of the firm's partners for whom I have a high regard. I trust the the letting fees are "value-for-money".
