Worse service and people I have ever dealt with. EVER. First off, we were tricked into renting an appalling property compared to the one we had originally signed on for. Which we ALL signed the contract LEGALLY and yet we were shoved into this disgusting excuse of a property because we were told that our original one was not going to be ready until a couple months time due to a break in. Little did we know, that property was in fact ready and coincidently when we asked the estate agents, the new tenants were there signing contract. When confronting them, Monica SWORE at us using foul language. This, ladies and gentlemen is reason enough to not ever go near these people. When we asked another younger male worker about what was going on, he claimed to "never have dealt with student lettings" even though he was clearly just on the phone with some.
ALSO. they make you pay a summer deposit to ensure the cleanliness and support of the house. £300-350 PER person. Got to the house. absolute disgrace. Moreover, had been given what must have been a faulty key for a lock that had never been used before and have been charged the full amount + probably a bit extra which they kept well hidden - over £200. To change a lock that through no fault of my own, managed to break my key. I was told "Well, clearly there's no evidence that you've never used that key before and you must have broke that key" Evidence? There were 7 other tenants in that house which all can tell you we had never double locked that door in the entire year we stayed but no. And apparently my own hands was strong enough to break my key? They chose to ignore that and somehow conjured up an amazing excuse to drain me of £200.
If I had the time and effort, I would stand outside that estate agent and warn everyone away from these people. Can't believe they're still open but I guess students are desperate. If I knew beforehand, I'd probably have saved myself all that money from renting from them and gone and lived with the tramp in the subway. At least he says please and thank you.

All I can say is STAY AWAY. Never have I dealt with so many rude people in one office, they never answer their phones or call back when they say they will. I had to chase them for the first 3 months of my tenancy to get simple things such as having the curtain rail put back up in the living room and getting a rear drain unblocked. I have got away lightly compared to some horror stories of people I've spoken to things range from broken heating to a house that's so mouldy you can't leave shoes under your own bed as they'll be covered in mould in a week. Everyone gets the same response 'I'll speak to my colleague and get back to you,' the 'I'll get back to you' is a complete lie as Castles never returns a calls. They'll ring you as soon as your rent is late though and will keep ringing until you pay. I've lost count the amount of times they've turned up at my home with a group of students to show around the house without giving us any prior notice.
