They took over my building recently. It is quite clear that they are just looking to cut costs and have now looked to increase the rent by £75 just before Christmas - in the midst of a cost of living crisis. They have reduced bin collections, the communal spaces did not get cleaned for months until we complained. Our fire alarm used to connect to local emergency services which has also been stopped and forces tenants to try disable the alarm themselves.

Let a property with HLGB for 4 years. Rob, Jenny & Bill were all extremely helpful over the time I was with them. Any maintenance issues I would usually deal with myself, but anything I couldn't they were quick to find a suitable trade person, and got reasonable quotes. Would recommend for landlords.

Since I rent my flat with HLGB more than 30 months ago, I did have a lovely time with this agency. I remember when I first stated to do an application, they were very organised and very helpful to make thing happened in exact timining as I wished. Jennifer has made all the efforts to make my move an easy and devoid of stress. Meeting Mr Bill Burns in the viewing and at the inventory, was such a nice memories, will keep forever. He is such a desent fair genteman who do his job in a way that majes everyone happy. He was the best person to have this link go happily between me and the agency.
Throughout me stay there, communication was more than fantastic when needed. They respond swiftly and act properly to solve any issues.
The process of check out was again , another such positive one. Mr Robert Harwood was very fair and realistic in this hard step, that I was stressed about, and to honest, he make the check out such an easy and noce experience to remember before handing the keys. Overall, thanks HLGB staff for this long time dealing with you. I hope you all success and progress.

Absolutely awful company. The staff are totally inadequate and obviously don't care about their clients at all. Keep clear of HLGB there are plenty more estate agencies out there who are 100% better.

Rented for 5 years and they are by far the worst letting agent on this planet. They never repair anything and over the years they keep dipping into the deposit for “fees†randomly they sent me an eviction notice. Stating they want to make more money by renting it as rooms. No prior contact regarding this. They actually played me by lying about so many things. They never repair anything !! Also they inspect your property every 3-6 months. If you are not home they simply use their key and enter your property. Then that photograph EVERYTHING. Including inside cupboard and even the fridge and washing machine that does not even belong to them. Once they even photographed my room whilst I was asleep in bed. I was working a night shift and they entered. I woke up and almost hit him. I have been in touch with others who have rented from them and 99% of tenants have had serious problems. Oh and treat your deposit as a fee. You can. It get it back. They even charge £250 to wipe up dust off the kitchen table. Please stay away from these people. You will only be disappointed and broke by the end of it. P.S I ended up paying £3200 over 5 years for repairs to the boiler / bathroom / oven and the electrical system.

I've been renting from HLGB for over 5 years in 2 different properties and I have always been happy with everything. The small maintenance issues that have arisen have been dealt with straight away which makes a change from previous letting agents I have dealt with! The staff are really approachable and friendly and that counts for a lot in my books. Highly recommend this company.
