BEWARE choosing Your Move Hobin Roberts estate agents in Northampton. I hope this review will alert future customers. It is shocking to my solicitor and I that this behaviour came from director level staff as it shows poor judgement, weak leadership and bad ethics. I was called at home even though my solicitor was dealing with my sale and threatened not once, but twice, by Ian Hobin with debt collectors. His threats had no bearing on the legalities or my solicitors advice to me. His threat was made to cover a fee discrepancy caused by a mistake at his company in their contract with me. I checked before writing this and Ian Hobin as his surname suggests is one of the directors at Your Move Hobin Roberts. Happily as heavily pregnant, with a toddler running about and unpacking my whole household at the time both his calls went unanswered so I have never had to speak to this unpleasant sounding man. I signed the Your Move Hobin Roberts contract which quoted their fee but when my solicitor received their invoice it was for substantially more. My solicitor looked into it and company told us it was their mistake. I told my solicitor and Sam Throw the agent who called me at home to say it was his mistake that I was not able to easily afford to pay for their mistake. I asked my solicitor to check the legal position. In the meantime Your Move Hobin Roberts informed my solicitor that the correct fee had been quoted on the Memo of Sale document. This was easily checked and was not the case as no fee is mentioned on the memo of sale. Other than this there were other details - Selling my property I had picked a low, very fair price to gain a quick sale but made it clear to their agent, Sam Throw that I could not accept lower than this asking price as else I could not make my home move add up. When I received an offer I was under pressure from the Your Move Hobin Roberts office to accept it by reducing my price. I had to stand firm without their support. The Your Move Hobin Roberts sales fee was not the lowest I received. I had to double check my contract with Your Move Hobin Roberts with Sam Throw before signing it as of all the estate agent companies I dealt with in 2017 this company are the only ones to fill in the multiple agent fees on the client contract that you sign for single agent representation. Your Move Hobin Roberts were also the only agent I dealt with who verbally quotes fees without the VAT. Also I was told by Sam Throw that I was holding up the exchange date which I was told I had given them. Neither of these things were true and the buyer was in fact making more enquiries to my solicitor at the time. From these points I felt the companies behaviour did not reflect that I was their client and not the buyers. (Natasha Palczuk in the resolutions department was very good to deal with. I don't know how she survives in this terrible professional context but I'd like to give her credit.) I hope this helps other people. I would NEVER use this company again or recommend it.

If you care about your property, then give this company a wide berth, especially if you only have one or a small number of properties.
