The flat was inhabitable. For the last 6 months of our tenancy, we had horrific mould, damp and humidity. This was initially caused by a leak in the flat above, so was not our fault, and was never treated or repaired by X1. We had mould in every single room of our flat, there were little black bugs crawling on the ceiling, woodlice on the floor and the humidity was above 80%. We had clothes damaged, furniture damaged and everything smelt of damp. The windows didn't open in our flat and therefore the ventilation was non-existent. We had a so called “ventilation system” but it was wholly inadequate. Maintenance recommended a new ventilation system was fitted but this was never done. Despite all of this, and us constantly begging for something to be done, X1 still made us pay full rent for the whole period and then tried to take £165 from our deposit when we left for “cleaning”. Thankfully we resolved this and got our money back but it took over four months. Just don't bother - it's horrible and you get treated awfully.

Aaran was really great. My partner and I were moving in together for the first time after being students so we were pretty nervous about it all. Despite being so busy with all the requests presumably she must be getting, she is always prompt and most importantly extremely helpful. She is highly understanding and goes the extra mile to support the customers. She is a Star *****
