Every single problem takes weeks of constant emailing, calling and threatening legal and council action to get sorted. The move-in date was delayed because the epc certificate wasn't valid, we weren't informed of this until a day before we were supposed to collect the keys. We were supposed to get them in the morning and only after threatening them with storage and hotel fees did they get anything done. Key's were in our hands around 6pm, we had 4 hours to move from our previous property... The property wasn't cleaned before we moved in. We weren't provided with the valid codes for the gates and only one fob. 8 months into our contract we still only have one (2 tenants) The property has fixed windows and so has a ventilation system. This system was broken when we moved in and it took a month and threatening to contact the council to get fixed. Even fixed the system is awful and in the summer breathing is genuinely difficult. One of the beds is bent. The centre is about 6 inches lower than the rest of the bed frame, ascend refused to rectify this. The mattresses are ancient, you need a really thick duvet on top of the mattresses in order for them to be bearable. Ascend refused to amend this, I ended up buying my own mattress because of how bad it was. The washing machine was absolutely shagged and sounded like a jet when we moved in. 3 weeks ago it finally died. It took Ascend over a week to send an engineer round to determine that it was totalled. It took a further 2 weeks of constant emailing and calling (most calls and emails were ignored) for the washing machine to finally be replaced. They lied that it was arriving on Monday and ignored our calls when it missed the delivery time, same thing on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday the washing machine arrived 2h late, the bloke who brought it was told that someone called Dan would be there to help him install it, we ended up having to do that instead. He was also told we would be paying him and no one informed him that he was also supposed to dispose of the old washing machine. When we moved in we reported that all the doors needed adjusting, some scrape the floor and others the top of the door frame and I mean to the degree that they get stuck, we had no reply. The front door was so bad that you had to shoulder barge it to open and close it. This eventually resulted in 2 broken locks, only after the second one broke, the door was adjusted and only because we pleaded with the locksmith. As a result of this, the door handle is even looser than it was when we moved in and we're waiting for the day it falls off. You'd think I'd be done by now but no, there's more. The chairs in the kitchen appear to be display units and not actually made for sitting as they are made from incredibly mild steel. All were damaged (cracked legs) when we moved in (also reported) and I can feel them bending when I sit on them, I weigh 57kg. We're waiting for the day they collapse and injure us. A seal in the toilet assembly is leaking, which means there's a constant stream of water running from the flushing mechanism. It took over a week for Ascend to send a plumber round, the plumber adjusted something and the problem was solved for all of 4 hours then it started leaking in the exact same manner. Every morning we get a message asking if the problem has been resolved and every morning we reply no, we're not sure why because this daily exchange progresses absolutely nothing. Out of the 4 ethernet plugs in the property, only 1 works. I probably forgot some stuff but you get the picture. Avoid at all costs
