I would give 0 stars if possible, the company have left me with a broken window for over 160 days with zero attempts to fix this. Read this as a warning to stay away from Howsy, the repairs team are beyond useless. Just so happens that whenever I ring to speak to a manager, Mia from the repairs team tells me she's on lunch.... World's longest lunches. Stay stay stay away from Howsy, they don't care about anyone who rents from them. The company are impossible to reach and when you do get through you get fobbed off.

<p>Absolutely nothing is straight forward, done proerly or done at all. My Weymouth property was trashed by ** (the previous tenant). From the brown scum on the walls, to the removed door knobs, kitchen units, cooker hood cover,the carpets, broken white goods left in the property and garden...etc. They lived like pigs. Howsy never did the inspections that I paid for. When evicting the tenants, Howsy charged me more money-then offered them an extra month as they would not leave. Despite abusing my property and owing extra rent, Howsy only returned 3/4 of the deposit back to me; after informing me that there was more than enough evidence for me to recieive the full deposit back</p>

I armed myself had packed everything for the move and deed the cancellation of the house where I was before. completely unprofessional.. i don't recommend it

Atrocious service. Poor communication with very slow (sometimes no) responses. Deny all responsibility for the condition a property is left in and argue every point raised so as to avoid fault. As a landlord you will pay a fee every month for Howsy to neglect your property.

As a management agent, Howsy are appalling. They repeatedly forgot to conduct basic things like the gas safety check, leaving me personally legally exposed due to their incompetence. They were incredibly slow in getting repairs completed - even urgent ones. My tenants were driven to the point of nearly leaving the property due to the complete lack of care shown by Howsy. When I decided to leave they then sent me inaccurate accounts. I pointed this out and was told I was wrong by Zee. It took me several emails to explain their own mistake. They are cheap for a reason - and the reason is they are awful.

Horrible service and I honestly hope they go under. They are not a reputable company and I would recommend to stay away

Lowsy- Like having No Agent at all. We had the misfortune of employing Howsy to look after our flat since 2018. In that time they mismanaged practically every aspect. They failed to respond to email and phone contact - even during a flood, when rain was pouring in through light sockets. Again and again they failed to provide a basic level of service, wasting our time, our tenants time and endangering the flat. Quotes they provided for necessary works were often overinflated. We quickly learned to communicate directly with our tenants and employ our own contractors (despite paying for this service). The only time we did get a passable service was towards the end of a contract, when suddenly they seemed willing to listen.
We are still chasing them for statements, so we can complete our tax return, but we have given up trying to find out what happened with our deposit, as they are completely unresponsive. Finding a reputable lettings agency is a stretch, but I strongly advise side-stepping Howsy.

18 outstanding invoices, I have never know such a badly run company, having worked super closely with senior mgmt and their teams at Howsy for 1000's of jobs, it became very apparent they have no cash and would be going under, company is being sold in a fire sale due to liquidity, all 18 invoices you owe are being filed at small claims court this morning. At Christmas Howsy owed over 100 unpaid invoices which after hitting them with late penalty charges of 40 GBP per invoice they finally paid (after a 5 week fight) and agreed to pay on time in the future, we trusted them on their word but sadly here we are again as they didn't pay and now do not even respond to an email sent over 2 weeks ago, the company is sold in the next few days to a very large uk agent who intends to keep the Howsy staff therefore what changes will there be.. none! Don't bother with this company, not as a landlord, or a tenant and certainly not as a contractor if you want to get paid. Speaking today with the buyout company to see what they have to say about this as clearly Howsy don't care anymore to pay what they owe!

We have had all of our properties in London managed by the predecessor of Howsy before Howsy took over their business earlier this year and we were very happy with the property management. However, since Howsy took over, it has been an utter disappointment to say the least. It is complete chaos. Incorrect fees are repeatedly deducted from our account, request to address issues are ignored and not responded to, outstanding rent is not followed up. If we were not actively monitoring these issue (as we currently have to do) they would be ignored. The time we have to spend addressing all the issues and monitoring everything has quadrupled compared to what it used to be. We simply no more trust in their property management capabilities. Promises are made to refund some fees due to inconveniences, but even those have not been paid. We believe that the main issue may be that people hide behind their online property management software, which is faulty and does not fit all the different circumstances and needs. I will not recommend Howsy to anyone.

if zero stars were an option, they would get none. Truly awful customer service, takes an incredibly long time for anything to happen and they seem to confuse any process beyond belief asking you the same questions over and over with different customer service representatives. Has been almost 7 weeks and still no update on deposit return, they are pretty much clueless. As a renter in London avoid if you can, as a landlord save your money and spend it elsewhere or do it yourself, they are incompetent.

They failed at advertising (advertised at the wrong rent, for the wrong day and as the wrong type). They failed at viewings (they were unprepared to conduct viewings). They failed at referencing (they do not supply the referencing report as neutral). They failed at check out (they did not have the staff to do the check out at the time requested by my tenant). They failed at maintenance (they have dredged up unrelated and unapproved invoices from 6 months ago). They failed at invoicing correctly (they won't send me the correct amount on an invoice so I can pay them).
Our property was advertised for the wrong day that it would be available, at the wrong rent and as the wrong type (a flat, not an apartment). Viewings that had been booked with prospective tenants were not conducted because the clerk was unprepared and did not have keys to the unit to access it and had not made it clear to my tenants that they were expected to do the viewings.
In a soft market, advertising and conducting viewings in a professional way is extra important. We may have missed potential tenants due to the errors in the advertising and the people who were unable to view the property after booking a viewing. To add to the stress, Howsy never discussed any of this with me. I only found out about it all because I have a good relationship with the tenants.
The clerks they use are essentially randomers. They am merely freelancers in the area. You may as well hire a stranger off any other task website.
Dealing with Howsy is a disaster. Emails go ignored or unactioned. Their chat is staffed with people who are unable to actually do anything. They simply email the people who were already ignoring your emails. When they say they will call you back, they don't. Expect to chase and chase and chase.
My tenants also complained to us because they were not able to conduct a check-out inspection due to lack of availability. Howsy booked in the inspection for after their flight had left, and refused to bump it up earlier. Howsy acts in this block-headed way where they don't read, understand and reply to your email. For example, my tenants said "We need the checkout to be done at 9 am" and Howsy sent back "Your checkout is booked for 2 pm" or something like that.
So I fired them. But the frustration has not stopped there.
I had paid for the check-out but not the Rent it Faster package. I kept asking them again and again to send a revised invoice. They still have not done so and it has been over a month. They owe me some money and I owe them some money - I want it settled so I never have to deal with them again.
But now, they have sent me a bunch of unexplained invoices for works 6 months ago that were unauthorised. The works total over £1000. I see now that they were stalling with respect to settling the final invoice so that they could try and stick me with these unexplained and unauthorised repairs. They have not sent me proof that they were authorised (because I didn't authorise them).
They are consistently terrible. It's not just a one-off falling below expectations. The only thing I have been happy with at all is the photos that were taken. This was probably by a freelancer too, so definitely not a reason to go with them. It is clear that using Howsy has been a £1600+ mistake.

When I decided to leave they then sent me inaccurate accounts. I pointed this out and was told I was wrong by Zee. It took me several emails to explain their own mistake.
They are cheap for a reason - and the reason is they are awful.

Don’t rent from Howsy and don’t let them manage your property. Everything that could go wrong has, from the initial completion of forms to set up the tenancy I was advised I would need to be named on the tenancy rather than guarantor for my daughter which has caused numerous problems. Trying to have it reversed has been very stressful and 6 months on after being advised they are dealing with it we are still in the same position going round in circles speaking to different staff each time and no one has a clue what the other one has done. The previous tenant had damaged the property and left it in an appalling state but we were advised a deep clean would be arranged before my daughter and grandchildren moved in. As we were desperate to find a home close to family we agreed and set up the tenancy as advised. The day before the furniture removal van was due we discovered that no one had been to the property to clean and it was left untouched with the previous tenants belongings everywhere, mould up the walls, on window blinds even dirty dishes and pans in the sink, it was absolutely disgusting. Wardrobes and beds had been damaged so Im assuming the property owner has not received any photographic evidence that his house does not resemble the photos that are advertised on line. After heated discussions with numerous staff at Howsy they eventually arranged a deep clean with most items thrown out as they were broken or dirty beyond repair. The removals van with my daughters belongings had to be emptied into family homes and Howsy allowed us keys to outhouses to store everything else. After numerous electrical and plumbing faults to the property, the garden being water logged and old sofa being left on the drive, and we were actually advised that it was our responsibility to remove, my daughter now feels trapped in an unsafe home with 2 children under 6. We are in the process of arranging for Newcastle City Council to survey the dangerous electrical faults after the tradesmen arranged by Howsy have only made things worse. This is the last resort as Howsy have very little concern for health and safety of a young family.

To make this worse, no supervisors were available to raise this too and no apologies offered. What a awful service, would not recommend to anyone.

Seeing the property - was quick and we didn’t have to chase like other agents
Property was clean, we asked for items to be removed, explained they couldn’t be but we could store at own cost. We kept them in the end.
We had a problem with a sliding door coming off the frame and it was fixed within a week.
We’re happy with our flat and everyone we have spoken to has been nice.
