Terrible from start to finish. Poor phone manner from several staff members. Tried forcing us to use their own financial advisor instead of our own mortgage broker (L&C) - to this aim, they were let’s say “liberal” with the truth in terms of other offers, the level of interest, and their communications with the seller. We called their bluff and proceeded with our mortgage broker and, surprise surprise, our offer was accepted by the seller contrary to the dire warnings from Mark Webster & Co. Unfortunately, our joy was to be short lived. Despite us asking repeatedly for the property to be removed from online advertisements, it wasn’t. (I know from personal experience that this is an incredibly easy task to perform, even when understaffed, so don’t try that excuse). Due to this, and dare I speculate, our decision not to use Mark Webster & Co.’s financial advisor, we were gazumped. I made clear my disappointment at the service we’d received over the phone and via email. Apparently, Mark Webster & Co. are a “family company with family morals”, but this was far from the company I saw. They passively promote consumer-harmful practises such as gazumping, are slow at responding, and explore any & all avenues to fatten their profit margins irrespective of ethics or good service. The one thing they do excel in is the loss of confidential files and emails.
