Seymours have a open policy that they give first refusal on all their houses for sale to people who are also selling a house through Seymours. So, no house to sell, and you miss a bunch of properties that get sold before they hit the open market. First time buyer? Cash buyer? Say goodbye to the best properties (ie the ones that sell quickly to Seymour's clients). Any other buyer but with a property to sell with another agent? Again, say good bye to the best properties. So a policy that punishes most buyers. What about people selling their house through Seymours? Surely it's great for them? Well if you are, then because of this policy Seymours won't show it to the most people possible in the interests of getting you the best price. No, they'll only show it their client list. So only a tiny fraction of the potential buyers will get to view the house you are selling. So you're unlikely to get the best possible price for your property. So this policy is bad for buyers and bad for sellers. The only winners here are Seymours. They are in effect trying to bully people to sell their property through them. Which tells you everything you need to know about this company. Avoid them.
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
