We sold our property through the Good Estate Agent, and had a fantastic experience all the way through. During the under offer period, Leanne was fantastic at keeping us updated, and did a great job of moving the process along. Really couldn’t have asked a smoother experience. Would highly recommend!

This review covers the period January 2024 to February 2025 in the capacity of a vendor.
In summary, as a vendor, I would not recommend GEA Loughton. Whilst I commend Michael in some of his efforts to secure a sale, his attitude towards his clients during the underoffer period was disappointing. Following a number of unpleasant exchanges with Michael, we were at the point of terminating our agreement; however, GEA were fortunate that they secured an offer before this could happen.
We initially selected GEA because of Michael’s positive attitude and the confidence he gave us when he provided an initial valuation of our property. GEA weren’t offering the best commission rate, but we were happy to overlook this given the initial positive impression they provided.
Michael was handson in presenting the property sale, and overall, we were pleased with the outcome.
Viewings were arranged and facilitated by GEA, a process that went relatively smoothly.
However, it was during the underoffer period—arguably the most important stage in ensuring a sale progresses smoothly—that we experienced significant issues with Michael and some of his GEA team.
One of the most frustrating aspects was GEA’s insistence on placing themselves in the middle of conversations between solicitors. Rather than helping to facilitate progress, this was unhelpful and often caused confusion. They were consistently a few steps behind, frequently unaware of key details that had already been communicated between solicitors. Despite being explicitly asked not to contact our solicitor directly, they repeatedly ignored this request, leading to conflicting information being passed between parties and creating unnecessary stress.
When we provided feedback on their handling of the sale, rather than taking it constructively, they became defensive and argumentative. In one particularly unprofessional incident, after I criticised Michael’s approach, he abruptly ended the call and never spoke to me again. This level of disregard client relationships and basic professionalism was both shocking and unacceptable.
Ultimately, the sale did complete, but the journey to that point was far more stressful and frustrating than it needed to be. GEA’s poor management of the postsale agreed period overshadowed the earlier positive aspects of their service. Had GEA demonstrated the same level of professionalism postoffer as they did during the marketing phase, our experience would have been significantly more positive.
For these reasons, I cannot recommend GEA Loughton to other vendors. If you are considering selling your property, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere to avoid a similarly frustrating experience.
