Flat let before it was even on the market!

The agent viewed my flat before the renovation was finished and brought prospective tenants round the following weekend. Simon was professional in all aspects while managing the tenancy agreement. He was fare and unbiased to both parties during the agreement process. Simon went beyond his responsibility as a letting agent to ensure an agreement could be made between myself and the landlord and did everything in his power to ensure both parties were comfortable with the agreement. Simon was quick to produce the contract on tight timelines and provided us with all information needed in advance to complete reference checks so that the process could be as smooth as possible.

Rosie was quick to make amendments to the contract on short notice and prompt with following up both parties where necessary.

I can't even explain what an absolute nightmare it has been the last 12 months dealing with this agency.

I have not received adequate service from one single member of staff. From the very first day the Junior Lettings negotiator Krystal Richards had me and my flatmate confused when we were negotiating on the rent. She failed to mention that this landlord had said he wants to buy new head boards when new tenants move in. The letting manger took over negotiations as she clearly had no idea what she was doing. That manager was called Mark Wellington, he said that the landlord wanted Ã‚Â£450 per week because he is buying the headboards - I found this ridiculous as we offered Ã‚Â£400 per week and headboard are only around Ã‚Â£50. He would have had Ã‚Â£2600 extra just for providing the rooms with something they should have already had.

The dealings we had during the 12 months tenancy was horrible! I even had to go as far as contacting one of the Directors as I could to stand speaking to anyone in that office any more.

The Director was very professional his name is Marc von Grundherr. I guess when his staff are being so rude he would have had to do something right. But I still have not finished dealing with them.

We have been out of the property now since the 18th April and in the process of dealing with the holding deposit release. My first call yesterday to follow up on the process was with our 4th property manager Athina who has always been extremely rude when I speak to her.

She already told me about deductions as the couch has extensive wear and tear, I told her the zipper had stripped and that is was not like we tore the cover up. The inventory clerk warned me and my flatmate about the check outs in particular and said that they are very bad to deal with.

I think more people should write here as I am sure their ratings would plummet! When we were leaving the flat I was going to leave a new heater, toaster, microwave and kettle as well as a vacuum cleaner. Purely because I do not have space nor do I need it in my new place. The inventory clerk said not to as they will charge us for it. Now yesterday I found out that the flat is being rented again. I for one would have loved those essentials to be in the flat when we moved in as we had to buy all of them. Considering I was willing to leave those landlords with about Ã‚Â£200 worth of stuff I would love to see how much they are going to take off of us.

I never want to speak to anyone from your company again after this and I will never in my life recommend you. I have 4 years real estate experience working with Foxtons and let me tell you this the people who work there are professional and very good at their jobs.

I have always had pleasant experiences renting in London and I have lived here 7 years. These guys are the worse in the business. Out of everyone Athina Yiasoumi should not even have a job - anywhere in customer services as she is the rudest woman I have had to deal with.

Do something about your staff!!!

The worst managed tenancy I have ever experienced.
I have never felt the need to write a review of this kind, ever.
But I urge you to never work with these agents, they are highly disorganised and incompetent. I wouldn't want anyone to experience the same level of poor service we did.

I regret ever renting a property through this company. The entire duration of the tenancy was one issue after another.

- Poor communication
- Delivered wrong furnishings on 4 separate occasions (fully furnished property)
- We were 3 weeks with no curtains, when they arrived they were 2 ft too short
- Blanket rent demand emails when rent paid on time every month
- Zero follow up to issues rising with the flat
- unbelievable 'processing fee's' and 'check out fees' on leaving the property
- Took 4 months to get our deposit back

I approached Benham and reeves after I saw an advert for property to rent within 3 hours of the advertisement.
After some normal hickups, which happes normally, I managed to see the property and liked it.
Till this moment everything was going very smooth ( as I haven't paid the any money ). After a discussion on phone , I paid the Holding deposit and filled a two page form with all the possible details the very next day after visiting the property ( must tell you that I went to see alone and no one from agency came ).

I was told this "respected" agent that I would get the confirmation once they talk to landlord within 5 days.
I paid the Holding deposite on 2nd day of month and I was supposed to move in on 16th day month.
Till 14th of the month , I dint get a single communication about what is the outcome about agent and landlord discussion.
During this period( between 2nd and 14th), I only sent 5 emails and called agent almost 8 times to find the outcome but this respected & very busy agent dint ever get time to update me about their discussion with landlord. They never called me to update any details and whenever I called I was told that they are awaiting a final confirmation from landlord and its almost confirmed as I'm the first person to put an offer. I was getting suspicious but you know bad outcome doesn't show its face till last moment.
Finally after my 3 calls and 1 email follow up in a single day on 14th of the month ,I receive an email saying that property is not available for me. ( dint even have the courtesy of calling me or suggesting any option ). I was left shocked and I have no place to move to 16th. My family was arriving on 16th morning and all the stuff was packed and I dint have any place to stay in next 2 days. I only can feel the pain I have to bear because of these idiots .

Please use your judgement when you deal with such unprofessional, unethical and mismanaged organization and their employees.
