Everything has gone wrong from start to finish with Connells.
We had Tyler come to our house to value it so we could sell it.
However he didn't value it instead he told us it would be better to auction and that we would NOT incur any fees as the buyer pays all fees legal costs and auction costs. All lies a week after we signed the paperwork we found that there was more contracts which we had never seen stateing WEhad to pay for the Auction pack and Legal fees which came to us over£1500.00 we had to sack the solicitors who they had appointed to do convayancing as they kept adding more charges to pay. Our new solicitor has charged us allot less than consols appointed solicitors.
We also found out they marketed our house as in need or a complete fefurbishment which was all lies and refused to remove it from writeups instead just worded it differently. We also had problems with them not undetstanding our onstruction not to have a board up they removed the for sale board and now have put up a new sold board. To make things worse last week we had a phone call from a friend saying a strange man was in our house so I drove to our house only for a guy to say toe he was the suveryor and I had to leave. Never NEVER did connells call me to say the suveryor was going to go into my house at that time.
I have to say Tyler was in our opinion after gaining a sale and he talked the talk but unfortunately it was all lies. And when phoned connells asking them why a surveyor was in our house without letting us know we were told she the branch manager would phone us back as she was going to look into it.... We're still waiting for the callback.
Don't just don't use connells to sell your house, there are more efficient estate agents in Torquay.

Neither time did we ever get that call back or viewing and later found out the properties had been let. They know we had a severely disabled member of the household and we feel totally discriminated against.
The manager Harry blames it on how busy they are........can’t stand the heat Harry...get out of the kitchen then!!!
STAY CLEAR PEOPLE TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL

The following day I rang the office and explained that my own brokerage had now provided an up to date DIP and I was happy to send it to them so they could now book me into the property viewing. Despite this I was told I couldn't look at the property before I could speak to their morgage advisor. I was advised by a staff member that the government policy was they couldn't do viewings until a DIP is approved but despite this, they would not allow me to do a viewing. I am currently purchasing 4 properties through my LTD company and I am completely aware that there is no such government legislation. The only reason for this must be they are forcing people to use their own morgage advisor otherwise they cannot view the properties. I am sad to see that during this pandemic an estate agent has gone to great lengths to maximise their income on every avenue but in fact, this reduces the number of viewings that this established company would have. I only hope they realise their mistake and change their ways.

They engage their customers as soon as you come through the door. They return calls and keep you updated. Kerys was very knowledgable and allowed me to think things through. I have dealt with lots of estate agents, but thoroughly recommend the Torquay team as they go the extra mile for their customers.

Had been trying to find a property to rent for family for 9 months with no luck. We are on the verge of internet take- overs for all areas of business. Sounds good, but, when things are not quite what they seem, when being misled by third parties stalls everything, when you need a professional team of real people to conclude you business efficiently........you have to go back to real people, that's the team at Connells in Torquay !

15 weeks (from accepting offer) to sell a vacant house, with no chain. Had to be constantly pushed and chased for progress, communication was severely lacking in frequency, content, accuracy and truthfulness.
Example conversation threads following accepting an offer in Mid September are as follows :
Chased them in October There is a delay in local searches, they should be done by Early December
Heard nothing.......
Chased them on December 23rd.... All the searches are back
Chased them January 7th....We're waiting for the searches to come back, should be back by 24th January
Heard nothing...
Chased them on 24th January All the searches are done and back !!
Voicemail from them on January 25th We're waiting for confirmation that the searches are done !
I stopped bothering to chase them much after this....as my tolerance of idiots was wearing thin, so I relied on my conveyancer and dealing with the buyer direct instead......turns out searches were not completed until Jan 31st
Finally managed to complete without having to have too many more dealings with them !!!
Do yourselves a favor and go find a proper estate agent instead !!!!

Disgusting service. I was a new tenant connells the estate agents. They took 380 pound fee for reference s! Which they never did!! Flat I rented had no gas no electric and was flooded! Absolutely unbelievable. I signed up with them in April 2013 where I was promised that they could sell my flat fast to release equity to purchase a new build in time.They set a fee of £3000 +Vat to sell, having already paid out £118.80 listing fee for premium right move to them. I reluctantly agreed to the fees as I was sure that they could keep their end of the deal as they sold it so well. This was the start of my issues. Premium right move never materialised at all during the listing to date, the flat was not really pushed as far as I can assertion, I had 5 viewings in 16 months and one of those was someone they brought to the wrong property. The last viewing had no feedback. Photos we supposed to be redone after work but after 8 months of mentions and reminders they are still the same as before. Decided to withdraw only to be met by what can only be described as rude and unhelpful attitudes where I was told I had to give 2 weeks notice (only nowhere in the terms does it mention this) and the fact they need something in writing. Sent an email to confirm cancellation only to have absolutely no response whatsoever. Watch these cowboys. They only care about the big sell, they are not interested in supporting you as a customer at all.
