What in God's name is wrong with these people. Their tenant left several months ago at the end of the contract and they are insisting he's still there. Despite a new tenant and tenancy. Bills in new tenants name, old tenant now living at his old house. Council tax bills correct and present, they keep sending me threatening letters, even claiming they spoke with old tenant and he says he still lives at my property. I spoken to him and he's said no such thing. Can I sue these people for harrasment.

I was highly dissatisfied with the service provided by Foxtons Streatham. I enlisted my 1bedroom flat in Streatham sale with Foxtons a period exceeding 3 months, during which I did not receive any feedback regarding the number of viewings conducted or any feedback from potential buyers. The only feedback provided was to reduce the price based on other properties selling less in the area, a decision that should have been made at the outset of listing the property. Throughout the 3month period, they made a couple of attempts to provide feedback; however, upon my followup calls, when I was able to speak to someone they were unable to provide any viewer feedback, and in most instances, I did not receive a call back at all.

Throughout the 3month period, they made a couple of attempts to provide feedback; however, upon my followup calls, when I was able to speak to someone they were unable to provide any viewer feedback, and in most instances, I did not receive a call back at all.
Furthermore, the estate agents failed to properly secure the front door and balcony door of the property, resulting in a security breach. Additionally, they did not remove their shoes during viewings, leading to marks on my newly installed carpet. Subsequently, I lodged an official complaint via phone and followed up in writing via email. Despite being informed that I would receive an official response acknowledging my complaint within 3 working days, this did not materialise. Consequently, two weeks after filing my complaint, I was compelled to terminate my contract with Foxtons due to their failure to address my concerns adequately.
To date, Foxtons has not provided a written acknowledgment of my complaint, nor have they offered an apology or demonstrated any response to the substandard customer service they have delivered. In conclusion, I am profoundly disappointed with Foxtons due to their inadequate customer service, lack of viewing feedback, security lapses, failure to maintain cleanliness of the property, and noncompliance with their complaint resolution process.

Absolutely horrendous experience letting my property with Foxtons yet again. Switched back to them after 2 years of self-managing and 2 years using Jacksons Streatham who were far more professional. Explained my previous woes to Stephanie Milton Gorvie who promised to turn my experience around, LOL. They then pushed me into a (discounted, in the current market!!!) 3 year tenancy without proper disclosure that the fees would be taken all up front leaving me with no rent for 3+ months. They take 2+ weeks MINIMUM to reply to essential queries in spite of hefty monthly management charges. My tenants also got in touch with them asking to move their rent date by a week (which I could not accommodate due to the recent rise in interest rates tripling my mortgage payment which goes out on a particular date) and they did not reply to them at all even though I got back to them immediately, so my tenants continued paying rent late not knowing that I had not approved this. Regarding sales, I had my property on the market for sale with them last year and they contacted me twice maybe three times in months, ignoring all calls and emails. So much for being "the hungry ones". AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!

Comments (0)Rented from foxtons in streatham for 2 years contract as per their request, just the 2nd month, the mice starts to play around, it's a nice clean building & neighborhood in a close managed by a company that is really fantastic, but once I start to complain to foxton, the start sending pest control company that they are on contract with them, several disturbing visits & nothing conventional works, the mice became everyday nightmare for me & my kids including a 5 years old boy, the pest control guy was nice and decided to go deeper in diagnosing the cause, with his endoscope, he found the inlet area backside of the kitchen fitting all around the floor which is structural as he posted in his report back to foxton, he recommended to close it, however, it requires to remove the very old and fragile kitchen fitting which will not be able to be refitted again, foxtons cut this part of his report when they communicate with us and claimed the visit sorted out the issue of the mice, more mice kept showing up around the house from the kitchen which we provided videos to foxton, they sent another person from different 3rd party company who confirm & provide them with similar report & suggestions, after that foxton avoided replying to our several requests to sort out this permanently,ignored our emails to discuss or even to meet with anyone from them!!

All very nice at the beginning of the contract, then completely unhelpful during the contract. I was left without a working toilet in the flat for weeks and only when I threatened legal action I was given alternative accommodation. Then as soon as the contract finished and we had to deal with the deposit, no one replies to emails, everyone stops answering. I was charged for stuff that was never even in the house and 300£ for professional cleaning when the house was given to me domestically clean.

Foxtons are by far the worst agency I have come across. I had the unfortunate situation that the flat I wanted was on the market with Foxtons, had it been on with another agent also I would definitely have gone with them.
Besides the consistent nagging and getting involved with solicitors when they didn't need to, their stories never added up about what was happening. Luckily I had the experience of having been an estate agent so I could be quite comfortable on when to ignore them .
On day of completion, they pushed the time of key collection back and back with different stories every time. Our negotiator then said he would meet us at the property with the vendor to handover the keys at 5pm. By 7.30pm the negotiator and vendor were nowhere to be seen and calls were ignored by the agent. I called the agency branch and head office who advise the contact was in a meeting at the branch. Knowing what Foxtons are like, I went to the branch and told the receptionist (in an empty office might I had - as if they would have a meeting more important than a completion at 7.30pm on a Friday night) that someone must be available to speak to out of hours. If they could not get hold of the negotiator, they should call the sales manager, followed by branch manager, regional manager and so on. What actually happened was they harassed the vendor who had been let down by his delivery to bring the keys. Given the personal circumstances on the vendor at the time this was completely unacceptable, unprofessional and quite frankly inhumane.
They made the entire process of first time buying as difficult and unexciting as they could.
I would strongly urge anyone to avoid Foxtons at all costs. Their treatment of clients is appalling and their internal running's of the business is equally as disgusting.
Also as an FYI to buyers and vendors considering using Foxtons, they originally valued the property 21% higher than the price paid/worth.

I'd been impressed by Tooting Foxtons previously, but Streatham foxtons were horrendous. Promised me they would get an offer within a week - then when I called a week and a half later to find out about viewings found out my contact had been on holiday and nothing had happened. They repeatedly told me there would be a viewing and didn't turn up - including 10am on a bank holiday sunday. They put up a sold sign in front of our building, only to take it down later that day when I enquired about it. As there were so few viewings I suggested lowering the price - twice (they had zero proactivity and despite sounding great at the valuation seemed to have no sense of marketing). Ultimately the only offer they got was 30% less than the overall property valuation they had put on my flat - and cheaper than a flat that had been squatted in in my block. They repeatedly apologised throughout the process, but never changed their attitude, so I took my flat off the market with them after 3 months.

I strong recommend to everyone to stay away from fostons, its a scam. They asked me for 6 weeks deposit, but now they are taking 150 pound of it just to check the house after we leave it, plus what ever its broken which will take extra cost, the house is broken and full of rats. We lost so munch money because of fostons. At the begging they are very friendly and nice, later they will be horrible and rude to you, and all they say we have to pay and they will take from the deposit.

I let my property through Foxtons a few years ago and it was the worst thing I ever did. They promise extortionately overpriced potential rental income, their fees are extortionate (was 17% at them time) and I paid for full management and they did nothing much at all! They also take all of their fees upfront first so for 3 months I got no rental income (it was going straight to them) whilst I had to pay rent in the house I was living in, all bills plus my mortgage! I remember having to go to my property in the middle of the night because of a complaint the tenants made about seeing a mouse (untrue/unfounded by the way - they just wanted a rent reduction), I had to leave my kids in bed home alone! All of this was because we couldn't get hold of Foxtons. I had to organise and pay for my own pest control person - there were loads more and don't have the space on this review. In speaking to the tenants I found the estate agent told them stuff which was absolutely not true (like I apparently felt sorry for the tenants so agreed for them to move in to my property quickly! - why would I feel sorry for people I don't' know????). Foxtons alienate you from your tenants - saying one thing to you and another to them having all that "control" being the middle man. They overcharge the tenants AND the landlords - the only happy people are them. As I only rented for 6 months in the end I only got 3 months rent out of it - by then I was desperately poor! Towards the end my tenants were late in paying the rent and I had to keep emailing them to ask what was going on - in the end I went to my own landlords insurance who were much more helpful. Even though it was a 12 month contract both the tenants and I were so unhappy we exercised the break clause. The whole experience of being a landlord with them was one of the most stressful times of my life. I don't know how this company gets away with things like this - don't be seduced by their "friendliness" - it bites. I put them completely out of my mind that I can't even remember the names of all the staff members I dealt with. If you value your sanity - keep well away. Would never use again.

Out of the three agents who valued our flat, Foxtons were closest to the price we achieved and the most helpful in advising on how to present the property. Having had my property on the market with another agent and not sold, we decided to try Foxtons even tho it felt like going to the dark side....However, their service was IMPECCABLE. The property brochure was excellent quality and really showed off our home, and the agents were great at keeping in contact, always advising of viewings / changes to viewings, and providing feedback. Once an offer was accepted the great service continued, with a call around once a week to ensure everything was progressing and we had no issues. I really believe our agent - Ollie - helped the sale go through more quickly and smoothly because of his contact with us and the buyer. There's no doubt the fees at Foxtons are higher than most other agents, however there's no point having low fees if they can't sell your property...
