I've had an awful experience with trying to let a property through Johns & Co. In particular with Stephen Brown. I put in an offer for a studio apartment, he then told me mine was in the top two but I'd need to up it to get the property. I upped my offer and tenancy length, to which he told me I would definitely get the letting (telling me the other person's offer and their increase). He told me he'd be in touch the following morning after speaking with the landlord. I waited all day, messaged him repeatedly, called the office, emailed, all to no reply at all. Literally ghosted by a 'professional' who's meant to be helping you. In fact, I'm now pretty sure he blocked me on WhatsApp once I sent my increased offer. It now says on the website that the property has been let. It's clear to me that he played my offer off against another person's to get more out of us all. It's been a horrible house search due to the competitive market, and I'd been waiting all day not knowing if I'd got it or not (but feeling hopeful after the call), but the failure to even send a message to say the property has been let shows the empathy levels of this company and Stephen in particular. I'm now a day closer to being homeless with no progress in my house hunt because I've wasted days dealing with this. Disgusting tactics, I advise anyone looking to rent to avoid them.
