I am the tenant of a property Snellers Teddington is currently marketing for rent and unfortunately for me, my landlady trusted them with a set of keys. On Saturday 13th January 2018 at 2.45pm, Nancy Kearney, Lettings Manager, authorised a lettings consultant to enter my home with some prospective tenants, whilst I was out, without my permission and without the legally required 24 hours notice per the tenancy agreement. Nancy sent an email half an hour before the viewing and when I complained about this, she claimed the viewing had been booked the day before and blamed a 'system error'. If you're for one second in danger of believing this blatant lie, please bear in mind I had spoken to two of her colleagues in the preceding 24hrs (one face to face less than 3 hours earlier) and neither of them had mentioned this viewing. LANDLORDS: Instruct Snellers and you too could be subject to legal proceedings for breaching your tenant's right to quiet enjoyment. TENANTS: If Snellers Teddington have anything to do with your property, change the locks or be prepared to deal with an agency that clearly has no respect for your rights as a tenant.

First of all, I have no idea who Martin Lambert and James Mearman are. But it really does not matter. I meant to put 0 star but could not. Anyway, they won't be amazed to read that review and I think they did everything they could to earn it. Nothing personal. In august 2015 we signed a 3 years lease. Events in life made that we had to leave the country after only 18 months. SO we gave two months notice to Snellers. We signed a contract stipulating that should we break the lease before the end date we had to pay 8% of the remaining rent (8% of 18 months rent in the area, I let you imagine). This is already a decadent rule, but Snellers and the landlord are in their rights and we signed for this insane thing. Eveything is set up to protect the landlord while WE, tenants, are funding Snellers. But then the problem starts. Of course if they do not find new tenants on time we are still responsible for the rent. The landlord wanted to redecorate the house. So they probably imagine that we could still pay the rent while they redecorate the house. Why not ? unh ? But the problem in that is that they insolently lied to the viewers. We have solid proofs about that. They told the viewers the house would be available one month after we leave. We initially thought that well if they want to redecorate they want us to be gone for sure and we wouldn't pay the rent. This is only logic. But no ! They made us pay the rent and we had to go. So we paid. A few days after Nancy Kearney naively emailed us that she went to the property and got the keys back. How foolish ! She basically told us she went to the property without any permission from us. We were still responsible of the property. Of course then the director or should I say the professional liar, took over the discussion and threatened us that if they didn't redecorate the house while we are still paying the rent the new tenants would not move in and our tenancy would roll over. AHAHAHH how ironic is that! So that was their plan from the beginning. Make us pay, sucking our money. And they thought we would just accept and say of course how much do you want ? We are going to take them to court. We build a very nice case with our lawyer and according to him Snellers made a lot of mistakes. So we are looking forward to talking with them again :) And to finish, the person replying to the reviews, please don't bother with things like Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and blablabla or whatever you may have to say. I can not believe I stayed in this property for a year!! After falling ill and taking time off work from all the disgusting mould and damp EVERYWHERE in the flat mostly covered by my obnoxious flat mates giant book shelf, cracked tiles in my bath room and kitchen kitchen cupboard door almost knocking me out after 6 months going on and on at snellers to come and fix everything that was wrong years before I moved in. My flat mate at the time clearing didn't keep on top of things which is why they tired to charge me 260� to clean their property which I know for a fact has not been cleaned since mandy moved in. Cracks in my ceiling from the busses going past ( thought the wall was going to collapse ) smelly flat and always cold even in the summer due to shit insulation. Doors don't shut properly. Broken cooker csn even see what degrees you cooking on because numbers have worn out. Broken boards around kitchen units ( we definitely had rats due to this) broken fire place didn't work. Windows too high so didn't even let air in. Everything is dated and looks like someone has been sick on the curtains. Leaking mouldy bath plug doesn't work in the basin. Seriously that is just a start of what I had to put up with for a year because current flat mate was too away with the fairy's to realuse her flat was falling apart. Oh and to top it all off hand prints all over my bed room wall from shoddy painting. I am disgusted and disappointed that you take money from people every month and leave them unable to work due to unhygienic property. Oh and all the money you took off me to pay for YOUR property I want back. I will expose you to everyone.

They do the superficial stuff quite well sometimes, but are hopelessly disorganised, and fundamentally incompetent. Part of the problem is they are part of a wider organisation (Thamesview) which is the same company under different names (Hamptons, Dexters). To be fair, they don't explicitly hide this fact, but it does mean it's often hard to find anyone to take responsibility, let alone get something sorted. Overall - like I said, dreadful. You are strongly advised to AVOID.
