Don't let or Buy the property in Alton Mews Aylesbury, HP19 8JZ. Be careful if you're still going ahead with this property. The property is poorly built and the painting and the electrical works are of very poor quality. I would have given 0 rating if possible. If you have gone through them for letting and if you have paid some deposit, you are never going to get any money back. I paid £1146 as deposit and stayed there for 10 months. It was very new property. Already there were marks on the bathroom floor of paints, and in checkout they have mentioned as the floors are not cleaned though it was given back in exact condition i got. They conducted the checkout without my presence. The bulbs keeps flashing even after changing them already 3 times in last 10 months. our property was in the ground floor, so due to the moisture the walls were getting moulded regularly even after cleaning. The edges of every walls were showing wear and tear due to the poor quality of painting. The property was handed over well cleaned and they haven't returned me a single penny as they say it requires deep cleaning. I wasted my 2 days to clean them. Deduction of some amount is acceptable, but whole amount for due to the poor quality of the building is not acceptable at all. Rubbish customer service and Mr Alexander was of no help

His dedication and patience was excellent as he even showed as around for the second time when we requested. I was also very impress by the kindness and support given by Pritesh their mortgage advisor. He was very helpful throughout the entire processing of the mortgage. They were truly an amazing staff and I think deserve a bonus.

In our view Chase is a big asset to your company and we wish him well for his future career.

You do not deserve even 1 star Connells in Aylesbury! Stay away from this estate agency. Especially STAY AWAY from Adam Manning who is a senior lettings manager. He is BIG LIAR and he puts in people mouth things they never said. My husband did not pass the credit check for a bill he forgot to pay. It was not related to the rent. When my husband booked the viewing with Adam I was next to him and his phone was on speaker so I heard everything Adam said to him. Adam Manning said to me that when my husband booked the viewing he asked him if he had adverse credit and my husband categorically denied. This is not true. He never asked my husband if he had adverse credit. He only asked our income and how many people were going to live in the property. He booked the viewing and the following day he cancelled it saying they got an offer. The person who made the offer pulled out and Adam did not bother to ring back my husband to say the property was available again. My husband booked the viewing with a person called Ambre and she said they were going to check references. She did not mention the credit check at all. After the viewing Adam Manning said to my husband he was going to send a link to pay the holding deposit. Not true again. Adam Manning rang my husband and he asked him to pay the holding deposit of £276 over the phone and he said we were going to receive a link regarding references check. He never said a word about the credit check. On Friday afternoon at around 5pm we saw the property was again on Zoopla. Just before 8:30pm Adam Manning sent an e mail to me and my husband saying he was not going to proceed because my husband failed the credit check. So Adam Manning put the property back on the market and he informed me and my husband hours later. When I questioned him asking why he did such a thing he told me he told his colleague Ambre to put the property back on the market and he did not have the time to inform me and my husband as he was stuck in traffic. Amazing! If you are stuck in traffic you even have more time to ring or to send an e mail! I asked him:”were you not stuck in traffic when you told your colleague Ambre to put the property back on the market?” he obviously did not reply. You are simple a disgrace Adam Manning! Also you are not a good liar because you do not remember the lies you say. This is because you say too many lies and it becomes difficult to remember all your lies. AVOID Adam Manning and the entire estate agency in Aylesbury AT ALL COSTS!!!

I rented through Connells for a number of years and sold my property through them with the tenant in situ. I was told it would make the whole process smoother. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The last months rental money was held on a 'float', I was told this is done so that the correct money would be transferred at the end of the sale. The property sold in August and I haven't received the correct money! Of the £1000 that the tenant paid for the month, I have received £156. To make matters worse an apportionment was taken from the sale amount ( the solicitor and Connells arranged this), so that the new landlord received his two weeks rental, where it overlapped slightly with the sale and him taking over the property. I was of the understanding that I would receive the full amount on the float to make up for the apportionment being taken from the sale price. Connells have now washed their hands of the situation, telling me that I will have to go to my solicitor for them to speak to the buyers side, as the tenant and the new landlord are no longer anything to do with them and can't get any money from them…. The money was on a float so they shouldn't have to go back to them! This is Connells problem to resolve, where has the rest of that money gone on the float?? To make matters worse Connells told me (whilst the sale was going through), that the new landlord had spoken to them to put forward an increase to the tenant, of an extra £600, and that they were shocked that she was absolutely fine with paying the increase. Every time I tried to increase the rental when it was up for renewal, Connells told me that I couldn't increase by much, as it would put the tenant off, as an example in 2020, the rental was increased by just £20 per month, I was told any more than this would put the tenant off. It only increased to £1000, a year or so ago, for a three bed in Aylesbury! This was only just covering my mortgage by the time management fees were taken etc. Anyone that says Connells only care about landlords are wrong, they don't care about anyone. Abysmal service and incompetent staff. Avoid like the plague.

Piss poor. Was keeping to buy a flat on Sloane House which was supposed to be completed in August. Put in a deposit and had an agreement for the mortgage. Was chased continuously by Graham for the mortgage as if the property was going to complete. Come August we get an e-mail to say the property would complete in October. No further comms apart from a call every now and then to ask about our mortgage and to say they will be looking to exchange. October rocks around and no comes about further delays to build completion. Had to chase Graham again to find out would be completed in November. Our mortgage offer ended in October and we were not going to take another mortgage at the rates there are at that time. Asked for a refund of our deposit and lo amd behold Graham doesn't answer or return any calls. Then I have to chase him for an update and all he says is he has passed on the request for the refund. Sent Graham further emails asking for trail of e-mail he has sent to developer requesting g our refund. Get fobbed off with rubbish about GDPR. So how do I get my deposit if I can't chase the developer and you don't answer my messages and don't call when you should. Absolute shit bags. Second time I've had to deal with Connells and they are shit!

This agent is the worst, please avoid! They took weeks to send us our tenancy agreement, they blamed it on the Landlord then later blamed it on us the tenants.
They said certain requests we made would be addressed before moving in, which were not. No inventory report was handed to us on move in day accept for keys. When we asked about it they said it should have been emailed to us.
There was a leakage on the first day caused by a previous underlying issue which was not rectified there was no emergency number on their website to call them out of hours. We could only send emails which we did over the weekend. On the Monday they responded casually with an email no sense of urgency or care for what had happened and said they were not sure what was causing the leak and for us to send pictures. After days without living in the property as fire brigade had turned off water and boiler, they finally got work men to fix issue and speculated that we caused it, however when they submitted the inventory report , it showed the damage was already there which we had to draw their attention to. We have still got a hole in the wall where repairs were made and no one has been in contact about getting the hole in the wall closed. It is now causing the room to become cold at night. We have reported other issues which we are still waiting on a response over 2 weeks now.

One again no show, no courtesy call, or apology Contacted the manager Adam again who informed me the agent had taken pictures, I disputed this as the problem with the roof, and garden can only be viewed from my property . I was assured he would contact me with new appointment, just rang , and he is now not answering . I would not buy, sell, or instruct Connells to manage my rental properties.

I had a very bad experience as a first-time buyer. They've agreed for my offer and I got valuation, mortgage approved by the bank. I was hoping to move into a new property in 2-3 weeks and they've now asked me to increase the price for the property as they find another buyer offering more price. I have lost nearly 1000£ as I've paid valuation, solicitor fee etc.
I'm very stupid to engage with this unethical company as I've read a lot of bad experience with the company and especially the Aylesbury branch.
The worst thing is their mortgage service as they charge you nearly 500£ for that (most of the mortgage advisors are free) and they even did a hard search without my consent just to get an AIP.
I strongly recommend any first-time buyer not to go with this company.

Their inventory reports do not reflect the conditions and all the damage to your property, at the end of the will be classed as Wear and Tear even if tenants are in only for a couple of months. The only time we received any service was prior to signing the lease agreement, after that was finished it seems things took a turn.
Repairs took almost 2 months to even get looked at, changing the date that rental was due took another 2 months.
Phone calls are never returned, emails ignored. Then they have the nerve to tell you they have been in communication with you the entire time.
Now at the end of the tenancy they are withholding our deposit, this after an exit inspection which highlighted no issues. they now say the landlord wants to do an inspection himself, almost two weeks after us requesting our deposit back.
Avoid these guys like the plague, never in my life have I had an estate mess me around and waste my time like this. Far better options out there!

Poor fees - it costs additional for poor quality photos on rightmove (which is a subsidiary company)
Unfortunately, my experience was a case of Connells (Aylesbury office) doing what they want rather than what their Customer wants. My partner initially spoke on the phone to a sales agent who had agreed terms should we wish to continue. He arranged someone else to visit my property for a valuation only. This other sales agent then valued the property and wanted to discuss terms. I had advised we had already done that, however a contract was still being filled in by him with his expectation for me to sign there and then. I advised this wasn't the case and ended the valuation. Latterly, we agreed all parties should connect to discuss terms. Even though we had previously agreed terms over the phone, Connells would not agree and we ended having to re-negotiate (which we did and very nearly received the terms my partner initially agreed too). After agreeing to pay an upfront fee of nearly £200 for a professional photographer and a premium listing on Rightmove, a professional photographer was sent round and after 90 minutes, around 20 pictures were taken – yes, it took that long. Once the advert was live, we noticed that only 8 pictures were used (for a 4 bedroom property) and how poor the pictures were and asked for him to use any better ones that the photographer may had taken and to add more than 8 pictures (the advert was missing numerous selling points of the house). We offered to supply our own pictures. This was agreed to immediately, but was never actioned, not even 4 weeks later. It also took 10 days before the standard advert became a premium advert on rightmove. This removed the opportunity to advertise in the important first week" – as per Connell's advice. Overall, I would not recommend Connells. I felt pressurised and ignored when it came to me raising my concerns.

If I'd have to choose between dealing with Connells again, or cutting my own eye out, I'd politely ask for a spoon.
Despite making it clear at the start that I definitely have to move until the end of August, the agent lied about the availability of the property right till the end of deadline when the apartment renovation still was not finished. Then, she tried to deny ever making any promises until the moment when I started reciting back her own email where she clearly stated the availability dates.
Furthermore, when canceling the reservation and asking for the return of the deposit which was promised in writing, it has taken me additional 5 weeks of calls, emails, and visits to the office to get back my money. I believe the only reason that it was eventually returned was the fact that the people at the accounting department got tired of me asking if they had received the order for deposit return that should come from the agent, and asked about it themselves.
I have never been forced to deal with such an incompetent bunch and I have no idea how such a company stays in business. At times it has seemed as if it would be a company's policy to make excuses for weeks on end, and if the client isn't persistent the deposit simply doesn't get returned. There has been so many inconsistencies in their explanations and excuses that it was truly shocking. By the way, would not recommend.

CONnells - the clue is in the name! There is a complete disparity between the service they claim to provide with the stark reality of what actually happens! I was promised my house would be managed locally in branch using contractors I trusted, that my wishes regarding my tenants would be taken on board and passed on, and that any issues would be dealt with promptly and efficiently by a named lettings manager as point of contact. In 10 months my house was passed through 3 branches, 4 lettings managers, no information was passed on either in house or to my tenants, essential repairs were not carried out within a reasonable time, charges which were not part of the contract were slipped in and communications were either ignored and calls not returned by staff who were complacent at best and downright rude at worst! The truth about Connells is that they're only interested in your cash. The moment you sign a contract is the point at which their interest ends! Use them at your peril....
