Rachel was fabulous and was by far and away the best estate agent I have ever dealt with. I genuinely feel she went the extra mile to find me a place to live which matched what I was looking for. Ultimately, she persuaded me to view a property I would never have looked at but knew instinctively was the right home for me and my children. Rachel was polite at all times even when confronted with an extremely rude and potentially violent tenant (we were viewing the property). She always returned my phone calls and always had all details at her fingertips. Rachel was a trainee at the time but she was certainly extremely professional and competent.

In last weekend the team showed over 30 families non standard PRC construction house in Burrow road, Chigwell but they didn't inform anyone that is not a brick build house, they also didn't mention in their website as well as in Rightmove or Zoopla . Week before last week also they booked appointment with us for another property in Brocket Way in Hainault for viewing and I came all the way from West London to East London and after viewing we found the property is British steel framed house and not brick build. I had another appointment with them in Epping but they gave us wrong post code of North Weald Airfield after searching half an hour for the property I couldn't find as the property don't exist there. I called the branch for the right post code and a member of staff told me they are looking for the correct post code then dropped the phone. Last two weekends I and my family have just wasted our time for Douglas Allen estate agents. I wish they will improve their customer service and will never mislead customers.

Hi, I would not recommend using this agent as a buyer for the reason being that as the buyer of closed bids you have to then pay sellers fee's which is 3%. Although beforehand you are made aware of this i believe it to be immoral practice and unfair, as a buyer you should not be subjected to... Read Full Review

Other than this the staff at the branch were all really friendly and helpful throughout the purchasing process and I believe it is the policy makers who should review there practice.

Firstly let me say how approachable and helpful both Daniel and his team were to my wife and I during the time they spent with us trying to sell the property.
Added to that was their total professionalism throughout in keeping us informed of every step of the sale operation strategy and giving us the benefit of their experience of the Chigwell house sale scene.
Within three months the house had been sold at the price we wanted and with as little aggravation as we could have hoped.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Daniel and his team to any prospective house buyers in the future.

Personally I found the initial meeting (although very polished) a bit too much op a hard sell. That said he did convince us and they did deliver what they sold so no complaints and my issue with one of the other agents was that they were very softly/softly and did not think they would sell the house.

I thought the marketing was excellent and the pictures did really show off the house albeit with some poetic license on the angles which certainly made the rooms look larger and more impressive but on the open day we had 40 people through the door including 3 people with firm offers and 1 we sold to. I think the way the house was advertised and photographed certainly helped generate this interest.
The process of marketing to agreeing a price was extremely quick and most was done in the week we took off on holiday to allow for the open house without kids (and their toys)
The sale by tender approach really worked for us being at the stamp duty level and allowed us to sell the house paying only
£150 +vat achieving the optimal value we could for this price bracket. The communication with buyer went well and they agreed to pay the other fees direct to Douglas Allen
Janine has been extremely helpful and she has been in charge of communication between us and the buyer and is pro-active and helpful which has meant for a smooth process despite a few negotiations around completion data and some elements of survey.
Overall I would highly recomend Daniel and Janine (douglas Alen) it is a great combination of pre-post sell.

Terrible agents all around poor service, consistently! Lack of communication, Lack of time keeping. Lack of customer service. Lack of common courtesy. Lack of professionalism. On one pleasantly awful experience of a few a viewing was arranged, being told with a clear message one should not be a minute late as otherwise viewing of a sale property will not be available. To be sure I arrived 20minutes early, as I was keen on viewing the place. After some time after "the important viewing time" nobody from the firm appeared. A call was made from me asking where the agent was, to their lack of knowledge and communication the agent could not be located and nor were they answering there phone. At which point one was waiting a call back. Some more time had gone by approximately 30 mins now after the viewing time and still no sign of the agent, another call to the agent was made. I was informed the agent is on their way and that they will inform the agent to call me directly to let me know how much longer over "the very important viewing time" the agent would be. some more time had gone by, nearly 1 hour after "the very important time" and still no sign of an agent or even a phone call at the very least. I had made another call, know somewhat frustrated, the agent supposedly who was on their way some time ago could not be reached and apparently there phone was also now off!! Great feeling after a 30 min journey then a 1 hour wait and another 30 minute journey back home after taking time out of work to view the property and at the end a complete shambles of an experience!!

Douglas Allen had continuously contacted me throughout this time not just to talk about my property but also trying to get me out viewing. This made me realise what a proactive agent Douglass Allen were and I decided to instruct them. There marketing really did make my property look completely different and within the two weeks of having the property on the market they had around 15 viewings, all of which were accompanied and at the end of these 2 weeks they had 2 offers on my property both of which were acceptable but they continued to get the buyers to increase to an amount that I had only wished on achieving. After this there sales progressive Janine constantly kept me up to date and there solicitors worked extremely efficiently.
I must thank Daniel Bourne and his team for the amazing job that they done and can only recommend to choose there agent based on the level of service and not on a fee. Well worth the money especially when you consider that not only will Douglass Allen sell your property but also get you more money and the best price.
