If I said this was the worst experience of buying a property from this agent, it would be an understatement..
Selling in Nottingham and buying in Bournemouth.. a new build.
The offer was accepted in August 2022, and I put my property up for Sale.. An offer was made in a few days( from a First time buyer ) and accepted by me, enabling me to buy my dream home in Bournemouth. I then gave my existing tenant 4 months notice as he was moving in with his partner and baby.
The holding deposit for My purchase was made the following day and I was asked about the choice of kitchen, carpets etc.
I made the journey to Bournemouth to the kitchen fitters to select the options made available. I chose an uplift of the sink and taps etc and made the uplift payment after lots of hassle and mind changing and price changing from THEM, I hasten to add...
The completion date was November 2022, and I had requested my mortgage to be ported and there were conditions on the mortgage, that as long as I completed simultaneously on the sale of my property and purchase I could retain my existing mortgage rate.
The buyer of my property was reluctant to wait 4 months to complete, so I reduced the price slightly to keep him..
I then hear in early November that the date has now been extended to February with the excuse of weather conditions etc.
My buyer is not happy , as he is now incurring extra costs to his existing landlord for an extension for a couple of months.
Each and every time I asked to speak to the manager of the agency, he is away and unable to take my call and eventually I would hear from the agency 3 days later after leaving messages with his Staff and emails..
They always seem to avoid answering my questions about my purchase.
I feel they use the geographical distance to Bournemouth as my achillies heel and put me on the back burner...
The specification that was agreed on my new apartment was changed several times without my knowledge and only when I protested vehemently did they revert back to the original agreement. Please bear in mind I had paid for these changes upfront.
My buyer is desperate for answers and if I cannot speak to the agent , then therefore I am not equipped with honest and
transparent explanations.
I hasten to add, this is just a briefest synopsis of whats been going on.
I was asked to drive from London to Bournemouth to finally select my choice of carpet from the 6 options offered. This was diarised 2 weeks prior and I receive a call from the agents on the day to confirm my time of arrival..
Nearly 1.5 hours into the drive, I get a frantic call from the agent to inform me that the samples cannot be located in their offices and therefore its going to be a wasted journey as they have already selected the carpet colour for me!!! As i am driving, I remain calm and make my way to the Agents and am met with a hysterical crying agent, trying to explain that she is overwhelmed by this situation and cannot do anything.. I would just like to add, that as this drama was unfolding, her colleague in the office was shocked at this outburst on her part....I do not entertain this type of behaviour and tone of her voice of non accountability... It was very embarrassing for her to behave like this with us..
I have had a wasted journey with my Son who took the day off to accompany me to see the apartment. We are then informed that we cannot see the apartment as the builders are on site.. at this point we are disappointed and feeling totally marginalised by this treatment dealt to me.. I remain calm and request that the Manager , on his return from annual leave contact me. It took 6 days for that call to arrive...
I then receive a call last week, that the build is further delayed till April end... again the weather is to blame they say...
My solicitor was ready to exchange contracts to their timings and the agent accused her of dragging her feet... I defended her with a reply that it was infact their solicitors dragging their feet, but to be honest, I was thinking , maybe the Universe was telling me something..
My buyer was again informed about this further delay and has now gone into financial debt and I am now assisting him with this issue as NONE of this is his fault.
Both our mortgage offers are at risk with a further fee and maybe a rise in the interest rate....
I inform the agent about this and it falls on deaf ears...
I have incurred further costs in leaving my property empty since the first completion date was offered (November 2022) with loss of rent , and payment of service charges, empty council tax fees and standing utility daily charges.. My property remains empty as I am now unable to Let this due to time restrictions etc..
I requested a video of the finish of my apartment 3 weeks ago ( as I have paid extra for a few changes ) and am still waiting to see it... and they were accusing us of delaying the exchange ....
I have today spoken to my solicitor and lo and behold nothing from their solicitors in reference to the questions that need answering over a month ago....
I have all the emails and evidence of this and I just needed to air my thoughts ..Who knows what the end result will be, but this has been awful and I have expressed this to the agent many a time....
All I wanted was to be kept in the loop and my calls returned and some respect shown as I had jumped every hoop they wanted me to...
I have taken some advice and 2 days later I am still waiting for a call from the agent...

Awful. Terrible. Stay away.
I had a horrible experience with this agent. Firstly the property I was looking at was grossly overvalued, and it was clear; you only had to spend an hour online comparing properties. The agents had clearly told the landlord this was achievable; hence, it sat on the market for five months with no interest.
Over time the price dropped by around 20% to a more realistic value, and the property started to get viewings. On viewing the property, the agent couldn't answer many of my questions.
When I engaged the agents about putting in an offer, I had to chase on six separate occasions to get a response. They were utterly useless from start to finish. Don't go near them.

The whole experience of renting a property through this letting agent has been horrendous. The only time when they were in any way helpful or polite was when I viewed the property and subsequently went on to rent it. Pretty much from the day I picked up the keys they became incredibly unhelpful, rude and dismissive of any issue I had as a tenant. I put up with a leaking conservatory which was never fixed and spoilt many of my son's toys and books, a broken window pane in my son's room which they demanded I pay for even though the house is clearly subsiding, damp throughout the whole property to name but a few issues. The only time they were interested in helping was when I reported a wasps nest by my front door and they actually asked me count how many wasps there were in it!!! I honestly thought they were joking for a moment, and then I remembered how incompetent they had been with everything else so I realised this was a genuine question! The final straw came when they tried to keep the entire deposit money due to the state I had supposedly left the place in. Not only this but they tried to charge me for the carpet cleaning with an invoice that I had provided them with my name on it stating that I had paid!! Thank goodness the deposit was held by DPS and they were able to recognise the incompetence of this shambolic excuse for a letting agent. The man in charge who I think is called John was also incredibly rude not only to me but also I've seen him rude to his staff and also being rude when out and about in shops. My advice would be to stay away from this company no matter how nice the property you want to rent from is.

I just feel a fee for withdrawing your property from the market is unusual and unfair. It smacks of unfair practice too.

So the house I liked sold to someone else, someone probably that was selling through Taylor Made. I emailed and said I was very interested still, if it fell through could my offer stand, and guess what - it did fall through, and yes it was sold to someone else for the second time.

So the moral of the story is, if you don't sell through them, you will probably not be successful in making any offers for anything they are advertising for sale.
I would not use them to sell a property of mine as they are restricting the potential buyers who may wish to buy your property, but who may choose to sell with an alternative agent.

Definitely over paid for the property we were in. Estate agents did nothing h for their fee, they didn’t even do an annual check for approx 2 years and lost their set of keys!

A neighbours tree was growing through my fence and window destroying the fence and my aerial. I had to sort it out myself as the estate agent ignored me for months! I contacted the estate agent to see if there was anything to do before I moved out and they said to just leave it clean, instead I left it spotless. Now the estate agents are telling me the landlord is getting quotes for a deep clean. Why was I not told that, i could have arranged it myself at a reasonable rate. I have know idea why the landllord wants a deep clean as the flat needs a complete refresh. I feel sorry for any new tenants moving into the property if the landlord is not going to sort the flat out and continue to charge full price. You cant even open the back door. Again reported that several times! Terrible service and to add insult to injury they are allowing the landlord to steal my deposit. Good luck if you decide to rent through them!

I rented a number of flats through Taylor Made from 2008 to 2016. Initially, I was satisfied with their service in terms of locating an adequate property. It transpires that this is all they are good for.
The most significant problem arose when my integrated fridge/freezer died. They (or the landlord) refused to replace it like-for-like and instead, installed a free-standing appliance in the middle of our living room, deeming this an acceptable replacement.
In the end (after a woolly response from their MD), I just decided to live with it, getting some help to lift it into the void where the old appliance used to sit in the kitchen units (albeit not fitting that well and having to adjust the cupboards accordingly). They then had the cheek to make deductions to the deposit when I left.
When I served notice to leave, I was met by an arrogant sales rep who showed up with a camera the size of which you would expect to see used by the paparazzi. He took many photos with the sole purpose of quibbling over the most minute matter of wear and tear.
In summary, functional in locating a place to live but zero customer care. But then, as a tenant you are not considered a 'customer' - the landlord is!

I have not rented with any other agent before so perhaps it is common place but Taylor Made will sting you every step of the way in terms of fees. You can only sign a 6 month contract when you move in, as I was there for the year I had to pay almost £200 after the 6 months was up to renew the contract.

I rented a studio flat from Taylor Made for a year whilst I was working with a company in Bournemouth. At the start they seemed very professional and helpful with no messing around, had I written this review before moving out it would have been a lot more positive. However it would seem that once you have moved out and are no longer paying them rent, they no longer pay any regard to you whatsoever!
About a month after I moved out I emailed Taylor Made just asking how the checkout report went and if I might have a time-frame for when I might get my deposit back. This email was ignored. I then emailed again a week later and again, no reply. About two weeks after that I phoned and was assured that it would be "sorted out right away".
A week later I had still heard nothing from them so I emailed a complaint giving them two weeks to release my deposit after which I would begin taking legal action if I had not received it.
It is now two months after I have moved out of the flat, they are still refusing to release my £825 deposit and I am having to pay legal fees to get the legal documents signed by a solicitor.
I'm not one to blow my own trumpet but I do consider myself a rather good tenant. I paid all my rent on time, responded to Taylor Made in good time when they wanted to show someone round for a viewing, I made sure the flat was sparkling clean before a viewing and the flat was cleaner when I moved out than it was when I moved in! So I can see no reason for Taylor Made to harbour any ill will but for some reason I have been treated with utter contempt, completely ignored and disregarded.
As a student I really need that money to go towards my car insurance, food and rent. I don't have much money spare that I can do without £825 in my account! Perhaps it's because I'm a student they think that I am young and not willing/able to do anything against them; I do not know.
Unless you happen to have a money tree in your garden and are rich enough to not care about losing the first months rent + deposit on your then I would advise anyone to avoid at all costs!

We can't recommend Sam and the team at Taylor Made enough. Having previously tried to sell our flat we had encountered problems with inexperienced agents and didn't feel we were receiving a good service at all. Sam was a pleasure to deal with - always called when he said he would, had a great understanding of our property and the type of buyer required and went above and beyond to ensure that things went as smoothly as possible. A truly dreadful experience.
When moving in there was broken glass on the floor, the toaster and kettle did not work, and there were several lightbulbs already out which were too high up to reach.
On departure they claimed the lightbulbs on me! (Costing �126 from my deposit)
They also wanted to sell the property and failed to respond to my request for extended tenancy for 3 months and would not comply with the 2 month notice period.
I have rented properties in many areas over a number of years and I am yet to find an estate agent worse than this.
Thry didn't even know the parking space number when I arrived!
Avoid at all costs!!!
