Been into this letting agent twice (18 months apart) to register for a flat to rent. Each time spoke to that same girl, whose name i annoyingly cannot remember. Each time she seemed more interested in eating maltesers than talking to us.
Once we were successfully registered with them, all we received was non-sense text messages. Even though we have asked to remove us from their database, we still receive these messages.
We were looking for a 1 bedroom flat in town for circa £700pcm. CGT have just sent me a message for a studio flat in River Leys for £400 - probably not big enough for two people?
There approach to business appears to be, throw as much shit at the wall as possible and see what sticks.
Stick well clear, they are the type of estate agent that gives estate agents bad names - they're not all like this, go elsewhere.
Shame no stars isn't an option.

My partner and I have recently just moved into our new home with the wonderful assistance of the CGT Lettings Cheltenham team.
Moving house is never an easy process, however the team at CGT Lettings have made everything so easy and the transition has been extremely smooth. I have lived in many rental properties around the Cheltenham area in the past few years and would have to say that CGT Lettings has been so far the best letting agents I have ever worked with - I can tell already that this is a team who really cares about their tenants and wants to ensure that everything is perfect for you before you move into your new home - This has mostly certainly been the case for me and my partner.
CGT Lettings have been extremely supportive in answering all our questions within a quick timescale and raising concerns with the landlord on our behalf (as there tends to be a lot of questions before signing into a long term tenancy agreement!). They have been really helpful in guiding us through all the legalities of the contracts and the setup of the agreement - Even offering us the 'flatfair' deposit option, which is something that not many letting agents in Cheltenham do.
Overall, a very professional, friendly and welcoming team - My partner and I are very much looking forward to a long and easy tenancy term with the support from CGT Lettings in Cheltenham.
Many thanks to the branch manager Sam and his team for everything so far!

Disgusting. This Agency is refusing to fulfil their obligations in law re. maintenance and repair of our flat.... Issues that were apparent on moving in, that we have repeatedly reported and we recorded in out inventory. The member of staff we are dealing with in the Maintence Hub is argumentative and obstructive and provides bizarre excuses for dis repair and refusal to repair. The white goods provided as part of our tenancy are in disrepair, the heating isn't working, there's no service history and repairs need to be made to the plumbing. Despite reporting these since moving in, repairs have been refused. This is no way to treat fabulous tenants such as us.

I have had nothing but problems from CGT.
Lies, misinformation and a total lack of transparency, and now switching over to a new letting agency at our Landlord's decision, they've magically lost our contract despite us paying £68 for renewal (a mere week before such fees were made illegal, I might add). DO NOT USE. They're dishonest, disrespectful and difficult. In one week I've had more respect and care from our new letting agent than in 15 months with CGT - maybe now our maintenance issue we've been reporting for over a year might be fixed...

After 4.5 yrs of tenancy I am in the early stages of what appears to be a fight to get return of my deposit. Their Agent, during checkout inventory, basically made a comment that the property needs to be clean in readiness for new tenant. Having just paid out £250 to a professional company for a full end of tenancy clean (including carpet and oven), I was shocked. When I informed them and sent the invoice, response was Landlord maintains it needs cleaning!!! Basically told me to take my complaint to the TDS (which of course I will). Said that property had to be returned in EXACT same condition, which of course is not true, as have to allow for almost 5 years of FW&T and if I did hand back in same condition, new tenant would be flea-bitten (as I and family were when moved in). I then had an offer from the cleaning company to return for a free full re-clean to a 'satisfactory' state required by CGT. Their response was that 'this would cause too much work for them', they 'prefer to keep the cleaning 'in house' and turned the offer down, quoting £130 for a SECOND clean!! Interesting that they prefer 'in house'. Even told me that this 'should be a lesson for me the next time round'. Then out of the blue they contacted me to state Landlord had agreed with my proposal, so I booked them for the NEXT DAY. Several minutes later I got another email stating that they had 'forgot' that they had already instructed their own cleaners to carry out the task. So I had to then cancel. Today they asked if I would pay a reduced sum of £70, which I have declined as I could have got a second professional clean free of charge. For last 20 months another Landlord took upon themselves to barricade/blockade rear garden access, which I reported numerous times, and still the Agent nor Landlord have rectified this. Imagine my shock today, when I visited and found a NEW GATE in place (coincidentally 2 days before new tenant moves in!!!). Other issues took between 8-10 months from reporting to rectification. Quick enough to take your money, and keep it, but very slow in responding and sorting. Would not recommend to anyone. I was previously with HMT Lettings and had no issues whatsoever.

I been to right move plus Martin Co and they give you exceptional service and a good house where actually everything is working inside! Think twice before you even think you go to cgt! Plus they really don't know how to deal with customers,they should all go to some cours to teach them how to speak with people! My baby suffered a lot whos 1 year because they didn't dealt with things in a house! Do Not Go to them!

Been dealing with the Cheltenham branch for a year and a half and would certainly never use this letting agency again. We have been left stranded with leaks and no washing machine facilities or fridge on various occasions - the staff are rude on the phone, patronising, forget emails and don't pass on messages. We have now had 6 people round to 'fix' our washer/ dryer in the space of a couple months because CGT will not organise a new machine to be fitted even after being told by the plumber we need a new one. The various 1 star reviews certainly show we are not a one off case and this company should be avoided at all costs.
