One of the worst experiences we have had, after what we thought was a positive valuation it went downhill from there. Very poor communication, i.e., very little feedback on viewings, if at all, details of prospective viewings almost non-existent, this after repeated phone calls asking that everyone involved with the sale be updated, by phone/email/text. When trying to contact the agents representative being told that he/she not available, (message left for them to contact us) nothing happens. Then being sent details of properties for sale! when queried this agent said it was a computer glitch. Buyer complained that viewing times arranged with agent not met and did not turn up, and when they did showed no interest in proceedings. In all not an experience that we would want to repeat. I have run a Limited Company and if I had given the this kind of service (or lack of it) I would have soon been out of business very quickly.

BE CAREFUL OF POORLY WROTE CONTRACTS WHICH MAKE NO SENSE! A 6 month cancellation even though the tenancy agreement timings are different. I have spoke to multiple agents and they have all said this is strange.
I would not trust this company and I am writing this review to warn other potential tenants looking at going into a management agreement, even though may respond and say contact me, they won’t do anything about it!

Completely negligent and out of line with market conditions poor service to myself and vendor. Compliance issues arose and the branch failed in their professional and regulatory responsibility. Raised this with branch manager and simply got abuse. She lied and continued to contradict herself. I would not recommend this branch to either a vendor or purchaser as they are completely unprofessional and will mis guide you all the way costing you time and effort - if you want to have your house on the market for almost a year this is the agent for you

I have been working with Connells Lettings team for a few years now and have had fantastic service notably from Emma Marriot and more recently from her colleague Emma Ter Harr - who work between the Grantham and Melton Mowbray offices. Despite working across the two areas, I have found them both to be very personable, proactive and they have helped me considerably. I would certainly recommend working with the "Emma" team, from a rental perspective!

I have been letting a couple of properties in the Grantham through Connells for the last couple of years, for the first few months there was a lot of staff turnover so the service was a little poor, but I can honestly say that since Emma Marriott in branch and Louise Burleigh in the maintenance department have taken over my properties the service has been 1st class and they go out of there way to do all they can to help. I would highly recommend Connells as a letting agent

However, a change of personnel; rectified that and we now enjoy a really good communication experience. Louise at the Help Desk and Emma at the Branch have worked together with us very well. Now when an issue is raised (there can always be issues) we receive prompt comms and resolve the issue quickly. This benefits my tenant and of course myself.

Connells Grantham business mantras are seemingly deception, shockingly poor service & timekeeping, and theft. Throughout our tenancy they consistently failed to respond in a timely fashion to our requests, which at it's worst left left us with an unsecured property (broken back door lock) for in excess of 7 weeks. Despite persistant emails & calls chasing the matter, Connells repeatedly demonstrated a complete lack of customer care, efficiency, or time management.
Now at the end of our tenancy, Connells have resorted to deception relating to the bond/deposit paid for our tenancy - though due to their complete lack of attention to detail & inability to understand basic math, we have emails to show their failings.
As we were going to be a pet household, we notified Connells at the start of our tenancy that we had 2 dogs. They told us this was fine but we would have to pay a £100 extra fee for a deep clean to be undertaken when our tenancy ended. Despite us reminding them of this on several occassions in the run up to our tenancy ending (without them questioning it)- they then claimed this was not the case and the fee was simply a £100 per pet payment, and not for a deep clean. This is just one example of the fraudulent activity they indulge in- for their explanation to ring true we would have been charged £200 extra as we stated 2 dogs on our application, but this was simply not the case - only £100 was charged. They have now tried to charge us again for a deep clean. This is a blatant lie by Connells Grantham and is a perfect example of how they treat their customers.
Sadly, the negatives surrounding this crooked letting agents do not end there. At the end of our tenancy we did leave a small number of personal possessions at the property, and both the front and back gardens needed work carrying out on them to bring them upto a reasonable condition. We fully understood and accepted this & rightfully this work should be deducted from our deposit. However, Connells went on to claim the full deposit would be withheld as the property was not clean (untrue- we left the property in a good condition ensuring all floors were cleaned, rooms were repainted to erase any marks, windows cleaned, kitchen cleaned etc.) In no way could it be justified that the £1300 deposit should be withheld in full.
Unfortunatly, Connells Grantham have been consistent in one area - that being poor customer service - so we are now pursueing them via enforcement as they have shown no attempt to resolve this matter in a professional, honest, and fair manner.
There are a wide choice of lettings agents available in Grantham and I would stongly encourage anyone looking to rent a property to avoid the Connells branch like the plague. We were always very careful to conduct our contact with Connells via email soon after beginning the tenancy due to their tendancy for failure. I will now use this information to publicise my review of Connells Grantham on the net to try and save others from a similar experience. You have been warned - please don't make the same mistake that we did. Avoid.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
