I have terrible experience with Foxtons. I lost a lot of money and time because of them! Their idea of fix is to put silicone on the mould. Control discovered some safety problems, but their biggest problem was unclear HMO status. Another example how unprofessional their employees are, is ignoring emails and phone calls. Their motto: Agency can't be involved! - except of receiving money!

I had rented a property in Wood Green, Park Avenue through Foxtons who had charged me hefty fee of £420. The reason I am giving them 1 star is because while renting out the property the lettings manager told me that the landlord was very good person and the previous tenants didn't have any issues.
However, it turned out to be the opposite. The landlord never bothered to do any repairs and never responded to my emails. I was told by another tenant in the same house that the previous tenants had suffered from the same landlord.
So, Foxtons were aware of the landlord but because of their greed to earn money and commissioner, deliberately lied to me and got the property rented. Not only that, they didn't tell me in advance that they don't manage the property on behalf of the landlord. They got my signature on a document that meant that i will have to pay the rent to them even if the landlord don't do the repairs and that i cannot deduct the money from the rent. So, while i had to pay the rent, I was left on landlords mercy to do the repairs as rent collection was delegated to them by the landlord but not the property management. They knew this from beginning and lied to me until I signed the contract.
They are just bunch of greedy people focused on earning money at whatever cost without any moral values.

I am new to London and I was looking for a flat share in East Finchley. I only rang to make some enquiries and Sarah was absolutely fabulous. Although Foxton's do not specialise in this area, Sarah's customer service was second to none, she was extremely helpful by kindly forwarding some information to assist me in my search.
Sarah could have easily turned me away, but she didn't and I was very impressed with her professionalism, as well as grateful for her advise.
Should I ever find myself able to get onto the property ladder, I would certainly use Foxtons again.

When you realise they have over valued your property by over £30k you've got a group of people who have no idea what they are doing. They have got too big now and don't give a damn about their customers. They have their money from me now so I am sure I will never hear a thing about my numerous complaints. I also found them to be very inflexible. The problems really started when i handed in my notice the terms of the contract stated that they should be able to access the flat for viewings within a reasonable time agreed by both parties, they continually came around with little or no notice, sometimes letting themselves in the flat when I wasn't there, sometimes letting themselves in when I was preparing to go to work.. Instead of organizing viewings so that a number of people would come around at the same time, or within 15 minutes of each other to minimize disruption I had at least 6 or 7 agents call at various times over the notice period each one with their own agenda and non of them speaking each other to try to co-ordinate viewings. This meant that sometimes, I would have up to 3 of their agents coming around on the same day at various times to suit themselves rather than any one else. When it came to deposit I was charged £480. Bear in mind I have rented around London for over 13 years and have lived in 7 - 8 properties and have never had any deposit deductions. The £480 amounted to £270 for professional cleaning (even though I was told that a company was going in anyway and not to bother as I would be wasting my time) £150 for an "inventory" and £60 for a "damaged" thermostat (The RAW plus that attached it to the wall was loose out of the wall when I moved in and just needed filling and re-setting.

They also charged £270 to sign a bog standard "short term lettings agreement" contract which could be downloaded straight from the internet.
I would urge anyone looking to rent not to use Foxton's.

Furthermore over a space of 2 days, I got a call from Tom to say I was being evicted, Helen to say the rent was overdue and then Natasha to say that her and Emma were doing viewings. I had Emma from North finchley office actually shout at me when I said I did not want her to do viewings without me there (a fair request agreed with the landlord) and found Natalia in my flat doing a viewing once when I had said I would be out for the evening!
This was towards the end, at the start, they refused to clean the flat or get us the parking permit from the landlord amongst many other complaints. I had gone up the formal complaints chain as per their website to the area director and have no time to do it again but I would not recommend this firm to anyone.
When a company grows, measures need to be put in place to ensure consistent service and the fact they work as a firm and not as individuals which is a concept this ridiculous company has not come to terms with. They are rude, liars, and inefficient ( unless it is to collect rent when they can call 20 times a day!).
Over my two years renting, I can name 15 people who have called, text and emailed me. How hard is it to have one account manager who actually knows what is going on rather than have sales ONLY deal with viewings, finance ONLY deal with payment, maintenance ONLY deal with issues and account manager ONLY deal with renewals!?
